...There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration’s policies in Iraq.

Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back.

Capitol police made the antiwar protestors walk farther away from the counterprotesters.

“These are not Americans as far as I’m concerned,” Mr. Sparling said.

They spit on them during the Nam years too.

He's right, the antiwar protestors aren't Americans, they are Liberals. It really pissed me off when they were protesting outside of the funerals of fallen soldiers. The people are there to mourn over a loved one, the last thing they want is to hear some liberal telling them their son/daughter died for nothing. That's about as disrespectful as it gets. How can these antiwar protestors be taken seriously. They say we are there for oil. They say this was a war of choice. They say Bush lied. None of this stuff is true. Here's a link that shows for a fact that the plans for invading Iraq started during the Clinton Administration.

Enough said.

you know, im all for conscripting these kids, a mandatory year or2 in the service, would teach them a little respect and a bit of humility.

PARENTS used to teach kids that! alot of parents need an asskickin too!

EDIT: hey gregg why dont you address the question instead of running around it, and twisting it into another topic?... but i know old habits are hard to break!

cindy sheehan is a democratic tool they recruited her and USE HER...i feel sorry for the woman, she so naive, she doesnt even know shes being used!

its the exact same crap they tried with patty wetterling up here in minnesota when they got her to run for senate..i can hear it right now..

.."hey lets get a "victim" to do our dirty work..nobody would have the guts to attack or question a "victim", for fear they might be labeled a monster!"

Conservatives hope and pray each day that someday a peace protester will disrepspect a soldier, then they can use it for propeganda purposes and O'Rielly can make a show out of it. They also hope and pray that athiests will stop kids from praying, and that alQueda will be caught sneaking through the mexican border.

Why do conservatives on yahoo answers disrespect Cindy Sheehan? She is the mother of a dead serviceman killed by agents of Al Sadr, who Bush and Cheney refuse to declare an enemy of America.

You can't walk away from an incident between small groups of people with a conclusion about the merit of their views.
