no, texas is not saying that. they are saying one parent MUST be a legal resident or citizen for the child to stay. the ONLY way the baby will be sent back is if both parents are here illegally.
and as far as your comments about kids...you are right, it's not fair and it's really hard. but a parents job is to think of the future, think of their children...and those parents willingly broke the law. if their child suffers, the only one they have to blame is themselves. but yeah, it's very sad for the children, it wasn't their choice.

parents are responsible for their children, if they come to America illegally and the family is split up, it is no ones fault but the parents. The parents get mad and use this as an excuse because they think that they have a better chance of not being deported if they whine and cry about a cruel government. I fully support Texas and hope to see this law spread through the country like wildfire.

"It is a free country" means you are free to say your opinion and worship your religion and you won't be put into jail for it. In England, where the American colonists came from, there was a Church of England and many who came here would have been criminals there for worshiping their religion. It never meant foreigners are 'free' to come illegally and take the things we pay for like education for our children.
I think the family should stay together and go back together to the country the child would have been born in if the parents hadn't illegally come here to begin with. The child can come back, but the parents have no rights here and have been taking our children's education funds and possibly food stamps for thier child etc all of which would have been here for our own children and poor if their parents hadn't broken the law.
No one is free to commit a crime and get to keep what they took. Our schools are being ruined by illegal immigration and the huge numbers of poor people we have to subsidize. That is completely unfair to our own children.
That is so wrong.

If the parents were here illegally then I really don't feel bad for them at all, the parents knew they were criminals and thought if they had children, then they could stay, but, it doesn't always work that way, the parents should of came here legally and they would still be a happy family, they should of thought more about the child that they were bringing into this world instead of thinking of themselves.

Your missing the word illegal in you statement.
I have no objections to anyone immigrating to the US as long as it's done legally. I'm NOT a raciest or zealot however, I do obey the law. When I travel to a foreign country for business or pleasure I do it legally.
I also agree with Texas. If your parents are in the US illegally and you are born here that does not give you the right to be a US citizen.

Well if its important for that family to stay together then they can all go to Mexico and be together.
If they wanted to stay then they would have thought about that before breaking the law.
Your right its not right that a kid has to not have his father around. And its no one's fault except his fathers. Or mothers if she is the illegal.
And getting pregnant from someone who isn't here legally is neglectful to your child. They 'know' its against the law. And they know deportation might happen, but they don't care.

honestly,Ihave absolutely no sympathy for the mother and father if they are here illegally. The kids however is a different story. Maybe it would be best if they go back to Mexico and live with them until they turn 18? Because honestly, the MAJORITY of Americans are fed up with illegal immigration.

Too bad they're chicanas and chicnos, if they were real Americans they could stay. All isn't lost, I hear Mexico is beautiful. I wish them the best down there.
I'm sure, in the future, when they're older they'll be allowed to come back legally.
