im trying to install windows 2000 on another hard drive from the one im using which currently has XP on it. so i run the setup thing and it says its a previous version of windows and the setup things will be disabled. how do i install it? ITS NOT A CD

UN plug the hard drive the one has xp on it set the new hard drive to master then install windows 2000 on it . after you install it set it as slave plug in the drive with the xp as master and the 2000 as slave that should work.

boot up the computer have the cd in the drive at the time then it will boot up onto the cd then you can over install from there

Your install must be on a cd to install it on a slave HDD!
