Do Christians ever open their minds to the idea of evolution? Im an Atheist, but i know that if i was ever to witness something that i was sure was God's doing, i would be more inclined to believe... therefore, i consider myself partly open-minded... im not completely ignorant...

Are Christians (and other religious people) open-minded to Atheism?

Well im not pretty much open minded about the posibilities of something more than, or something other than God, but if any christian ever told you that they have never, once doubted God's existant, they're a liar because its normal to doubt when many things are going wrong.
But to answer your next question, sorry, no. I'm not open-minded to atheism, but I don't judge them either, every one can believe in what ever they want.

America's Forefathers, though considered Christian, they were really Deists, believing in the moral teachings of the Bible, but not the miracles. They believed they were modern enough to recognize that evolution was likely.

Having been raised in the JWs, we were taught about evolution, in order to better understand its arguments.

Myself, though I know that man did not evolve from lower form animals, I do believe that evolution is a part of creation, in that animals have evolved from their basic forms of 4000 years ago. As for humans, we have de-evolved since that time. As to why I do not follow the tenements of evolution, this would help. I keep it saved as a text file.

The best example of whether God exist is the Human Brain.

Studies, like that done by the University of Michigan, and features in the Discovery Channel program, The Amazing Life of the Human Brain, shows just how amazing the human brain is.

Every second while awake, we are absorbing 40MBs of data per second. That’s 144 gigabytes per hour and about 2 terabytes per day. That’s a lot of data even for the largest computer. When we sleep at night, and only at night or under nighttime conditions, all that data is sorted and stored through the creation of synaptic connectors and biochemical bounds. The brain has enough volume to allow for the creation of these storage connectors to last over 10,000 years.

Without the need of a creator, what evolutionary pressure could cause the need for this much volume that would take that long to fill? Clearly, man was either created by God to live that long, or if evolve, once lived that long, and has since de-evolved to what we are today. Which do you think it is?

Evolution does take place, in that animals have evolved and humans have de-evolved since the time of the creation. Many divergent species are related, such as the Meerkat/Hyena and the Lion/House cat. A house cat can breed with a lion, I wonder if the same is possible the Hyena and Meerkat?

This is why I believe in God. I use the brain he gave me, and designed for me, to determine something beyond imagining.

I think the difference between opening your mind to Christianity when you are atheist versus opening your mind to atheism when you are a Christian, is that in the former you are not denying anything by doing this. For the latter, in order to open your mind to atheism, you are partially denying the existence of God. That would undermine the whole concept of Christianity, right? I'm sure that some Christians question their beliefs at one time or another, or maybe lose faith due to external issues. Some admit doubt/questioning, others deny it every happening. I guess you could compare it to human-human love: I don't want to admit that I have ever doubted or questioned my love for my boyfriend, but in reality it has happened (not recently or frequently, but it's happened).

Open minded to atheism, no...do I ever struggle with doubts, at times...yes. There are times when I am unable to deny Him no matter what, but there are times when I start questioning myself, was that really Him? I know that all doubts and fears are something to be worked through and in the end my faith is stronger than it was before hand. I wouldn't trust anyone who never had a time where they questioned their beliefs.

I never doubt the existence of God-even during the 30 years I was trying to run from the truth.
No, I am not "open-minded" to atheism.

To be a "christian" you would have accepted God into your heart, forgiven for your sins, washed in the "blood of the lamb/born again", filled with the holy spirit....when you have a relationship with the lord and he lives within you I don't see how you could ever doubt his existence. I doubt his existence as much as I doubt my own.
I don't see it as doubting his existence, its becoming weak under the pressure of society's crap, and daily stress when we stray away from our relationship with God and the companionship of other Christians. All things are possible through God, Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

All Christians have experienced doubt at some point, but as we mature as Christians, we learn to put greater trust in our God. At this point in my spiritual growth, I do not doubt the existence of God at all.

You know how atheists say they don't believe in God? Well, I don't believe in atheists :P Everyone knows in their hearts that there is a God, but some try to deny it because they want to live like He doesn't exist, because they don't want to be accountable to Him.
