Since he was just a child, and did not yet have the knowledge of his pre-existence, he was like any other Jewish child, he learned the family business, until age 30, not 32. Males don't even reach full maturity until this age. At his baptism, when his brain had reached full maturity, he was ready to receive all the data from his pre-existence. From there, he went out into the wilderness to compile and understand what he had just learned. He likely slept most of that time, as that is when the brain processes everything learned while awake, creates chemical bound and synaptic connectors.

As for that 18 years, I would imagine he was a very good carpenter, being a perfect human being, with five times our mental abilities.

Well we know one thing it gave the scribes 20 years to come up with an incredible fabricated story, the bible really only talks about Jesus for 3 years of his life, that really dose not tell us much of who he really was, ironically we know more about Barabbas than we do of Jesus, the bible continues to create more questions than answers that is for sure.

He probably learned the trade of his father and helped support his family --- but nobody know for sure. It probably isn't touched on because the importance of his life on earth began in 29 CE at his baptism when he commenced his ministry for 3 1/2 years until his sacrificial death in 33 CE.

Obviously, since there's nothing mentioned about it in the Bible, then Jesus must have ceased to exist for those years.

Isn't that how it works?

The only theory I've heard is that he went to India and studied under a guru there, but I'm not too sure how true that is.

Maybe some things are best left unknown.

As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
We don't know.

Yes, you are right, the bible is silent on that. That is why you surely can offer no reliable conclusions whatsoever. Please, do not go beyond what is written.
