Well the best one is anything that clumps good and has baking powder init so the smell won't be too bad. ALso if you put some arm and hammer baking powder on the bottom of the litter box hey it does wonders.

Really this depends on how much money you want to spend. I have three cats and I find that Fresh Step Multiple cats scoop-able litter has worked the best so far but it's kind of pricey when you have more than one cat. There are many things to consider when choosing a type of litter for your cats though. If you want to be environmentally friendly then you will want to use pine or corn based litters... Arm and Hammer has a great corn husk litter that smells awesome but doesn't work well for multiple cats. It's pretty fair on price too, espcially for one cat. Clay based litter whether it's scoop-able or regular normally works better in eliminating smells but the silica inside the dust that comes with these litters can build up in a cats lungs. Plus they are bad for the environment. There are also crystal litters that are really expensive but cover smells the better than any other litter but they are expensive and I think almost unnecessary. Now if you want to save money then I would just get the regular clay litter and mix it with a deodorizing additive. Once again arm and hammer makes a great deodorizer specially for litter boxes but there are many possibilities with different smells and everything. Depending on your litter box, scoop-able is easiest to clean if you want to save clean litter in your box but you can also get the cheap stuff and whenever the litter needs to be scooped, just dump it all and save the energy of scooping. Also look into a closed top litter box because those also help keep the smells confined.

Tidy Cat Crystals~scoopable.
I dont like the tidy cats in the yellow and red pail, its the clear pail with a blue lid that has crystals and it works the best out of anything I have tried so far.

Tidy cats works ok. Really the best king is anything that is scoopable. I use the Arm & Hammer brand for my cats, it cuts down on the smell

Everclear is a good one sold at Petsmart. It's a clumping formula and has less dust than some of the others. Also, it appears to track on paws a little less.

Its all just ground up clay with purfume to trick people into squandering their money. Like a lot of products it probably comes from the same factory and they only change the labels.
