There is a big flat silvery looking battery in the bottom of the motherboard of your computer. It's called the CMOS battery, and it keeps the time clock accurate, among other things. Turn the computer off, unplug it from the electrical source, open the case and then open the 2 little clips that hold the battery in place. Take it with you to WalMart, Radio Shack or someplace like that. It is a lithium battery, and will cost $2-4. buy a new one and put it back in just like the one you took out. Close the clips, put the cover back on, plug the computer in and turn it on. Then click on the time and reset your time, day, month and year. Don't forget to reset the time zone, also.

Running any P2P program on an older operating system for extended periods might cause the system to loose time. This is because BitTorrent, etc. eats much of your system memory.
There are programs such as EZmem that can free used RAM. But i'm not sure if you are downloading anything.

Check your time zone. It's in the second tab. If your connected to the internet you might be automatically updating to the correct time in your current time zone.
