There are tips you can put on your kitty's claws called Soft Paws. Or you could try using Bitter Apple spray. Some have even suggested using double-sided tape, but I'm not sure I would want that sticky stuff on my furniture.

Now, one cat I used to have used to LOVE scratching on old car mats. I never even had to raise my voice to him about the furniture. You could try getting that, or small pieces of carpet.

Good luck!

-Get a good scratching post. First place it near the place she scratches now; after you get her trained, you can gradually move it to a more convenient place but don't put it in a far corner. Scratching is also a way to mark her territory so keep it somewhere close by.
-You can rub catnip on the scratching post to make it more appealing. Wash the areas she used to scratch & use lemon odor if you want to be sure the odor there is no longer appealing to her.
-Use a squirt gun or spray bottle when she scratches the wrong thing. Praise her when she uses the scratching post (but don't disturb her too much or she still won't feel comfy using it :))
-You can also use alu foil or doublesided tape on the places she should not scratch.
-Clip her nails regularly.

The source -in spite of its domain name an *anti* declawing site :)- has a rather long article on this going into much more detail.

Good luck!

My cats used to scratch on my furniture until I got them a huge scratching post (it's about 5'7" tall). You probably don't have to go all out like I did, just give your cat an alternative. My cats haven't scratched on the furniture since then and they love to climb up and down and attack each other on the scratching post.

Buy a scratch post, or lay a piece of square carpet in the kitchen, or buy a quoi mat.Demonstrate to the cat what you would like her to do. Scratch the post, claw the carpet or the quoi mat.She will catch on very quickly.

They make a cat spray now that you can put on your furniture to stop them from doing that. Check your local Wal-Mart or pet store.

show her the tree in the front yard. no cat with claws would live strictly indoors in my house.
