There are many many many many MANY contradictions in the Bible!!
I'm not sure what Christians think of the contradictions though?

I have no answer for the other verse at this time but for Exodus 32:14 does not say what you have . here's what I have ( Then the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened. exodus 32:14 ) here's what I have for numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should changle his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? here's what i have for Genesis 32:30 So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, " It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared."

Moses did not see God face to face. He heard God's voice and God was present in the burning bush. Leviticus were laws put in place for the nation Israel, not for Christians. You can not take a few scripture verses out of context and expect to understand the whole Bible. I am studying the Bible and it will take me 5 yrs to go through the whole thing. Go to www.ttb.org for good Bible study. It will take you 5 years. But at least you will know the truth.

What Bible are you looking at?
Genesis 32.30 "And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved"
KJV
I'm not exactly a Christian, but I have to agree with Angel here. Your argument is strong, I might add, but not sufficient, you can't compare between two books from different times from different people. It's like comparing Nostradamus with Miss Cleo.

I would just like to point out that so far this is the one question that christians arent jumping all up and down about.
way to go you actually went through, found the versus and compared them to other versus! now the jesus guys cant say "god says his word is infallible and in the begining there was the word, and the word was god"..and blah blah blah.
think you got em there.
and whoever it was that said question:can god change his mind, that is not a valid argument.
and if he can then i suggest you stop reading and following the bible because what if god has changed his mind since then?

There are a lot more contradiction's than that! The bible is NOT inerrant! It is the work of men- if you are Christian then you need to accept that they are divinely inspired men - but human and fallible non-the less....

Trying to find something that really makes sense in the Bible?
Don't waste your time, dude.
The Lord of the Rings is a much better epic novel than that crock of asswipe.

Good point. But I would think the first few verses would have been enough to raise the question "are these just examples of the ruling class trying to give reason for the populace not to question his existence- thus questioning our authority?"

Whenever men have encountered God, they have seen him in only a very limited fashion, and not like he truly appears.
That will be reserved for our eternal reward.
