now Gibson did not insult Moses did he?

I don't know about the Da Vinci code to comment.

the newspaper editor who published the cartoons did not publish similar cartoons for Jesus because he was afraid of the repercussions.

What can I say, we're a very passionate people. But the thing is, many Muslims are uneducated. The only thing they've been surrounded by is war, discrimination, and bad politics. The Muslims have been used and abused for a long time. Uneducated Muslims have no other way to react.

And its a little pathetic so many people think that its only the Muslims that are bad. I don't know about you guys, but in AP European History, I learned that the people who killed millions in the name of their religion since the beginning of each religion were the Christians and the Jews. Muslims had fought some wars, but weren't even considered a religion back then! And the Jews, after being all dominate, were eventually overthrown by Catholicism through violence (brutal executions, massacres, etc). Just the facts...

Both Jews and Christians have grown used to remarks made about them and their respective religions.

Neither group particularly cares for such remarks but they (the remarks) , unfortunately, are not that uncommon nor or films portraying Jews and or Christians in a negative manner.

Islam, on the hand, forbids not only the image of their Prophet from being displayed but the image of any living thing from being displayed and the riot was almost inevitable.

Dr. Brooke:

I think you'll find that it's the Christians at the moment who are being killed.Muslims are raping and killing Christians in Sudan. My town has taken in quite a few Christian Sudanese refugees. The military in Burma have compiled a document on how to rid the country of Christians. The Chinese government is torturing Christians. In certain Muslim countries,Christians are being hunted out of their homes, and being threatened and intimidated by the population. They have no help from the government-they are put on trial and executed!
Whatever you think of the war in Iraq,it's not a case of "Christians against Muslims".

Because making an image of their Prophet is considered idolatry, and considering the lack of respect for the religion itself (even to those who are not extremists) I could see how that would be seen as disrespectful- or even a threat for those who wish to turn every little smart remark into a direct insult. Combination disrespect on the part of the cartoonist, and extreme train of mind for the rioters.

What I don't understand is why the Jews and Christians don't seem to understand that extremism is extremism whether your Muslem, Jewish, Christian... Everyone has their thoughts, and standing on the sideline of your antics (or perhaps in my own corner), I can see these things objectively- believe me, your sect's extremist conduct is no better than the others.

1. It is wrong to kill
2. Why would people that beleive in God want to kill somebody if it is against their beleifs
3.Da Vinci Code is based off of a fictional book. It made us upset but still. Let them do what they want. We shouldn't let it interfere with our lives.

Well, and I hate saying this, but the majority of Muslims aren't well educated. Many of them are still living like their anscestors did back in the middle ages. Those who are educated, you'll notice, aren't the ones running around declaring Jihad. I think that's the problem. People who are poorly educated solve their disagreements with violence, hatred, and condemnation.

it's the difference between dead religions and a living one, although i don't support what they did. but when roger garudy denied the so called holocaust he got threats for killing him. when Saddam said that Palestine is Arabic, Americans killed hundred of thousands of civilians in Iraq. Denmark was a part of the war.
