As you can see, there were a number of William Hector Pierces in TN, though none as far back as you are looking for. Another thing you may wish to do is to go to www.usgenweb.net/tn and find the county where Trade was located. Go to that county's genealogical website and see if any records from that era are available. Men get married as young as 16 and as old as 96, so you didn't really pin his birth year down to much more than a century, did you?

Trade is in Johnson County. These are the William Pierces in the index to the census images I subscribe to. I don't see anyone likely. He might be hiding out as "W H" or "Hector". He might have moved there in 1910 right after the census and lit out for wider territories in 1919, right before the 1920. They may have spelled the surname "Pearce". Your local FHC may have census images; you should call and ask.
