Eat at least an hour before, or you could get cramps. Even after that, if you still FEEL full, wait until you don't.

If I eat before a workout, I tend to feel sick very fast, almost to the point of throwing up. I wouldn't recommend it.
Perhaps a granola bar or something small, but definitely don't eat a full meal within two hours of a workout.

You do not want to eat a lot before a workout. The most likely side effect is that you could lose the contents of your stomach. You will definitely be slower with a full stomach. In extreme cases, it could even lead to a heart attack. If you are young & healthy, that is extremely unlikely.

your'e not supposed to apparently, but i think it goes on the person.i have to eat before a big training session or i have a hard time making it to the end.in fact i sometimes would have to have a snack between training sessions.but you have to use common sense in what you eat.i'd normally go and have a big workout, come home have half my dinner then go abck and train again and finish the rest when i got home.and children especially lag half way through a class if they havn't eaten, and when a kids hungry boy can they be hard to put up with.and if you have a heap of them, phew.everyone has a different metabolism.
