Basically everyday, I bring a turkey sandwich to school for lunch. And a granola bar. But I've had the same exact turkey for over a year now and I'm looking for something new. I'm an extremely picky eater and I hate school lunches that the school sells. (mainly cuz I don't want to stand in line for them) But is there any food that is okay when eaten cold? Pasta, rice, chicken, etc. don't keep well for 4 hours in my backpack and they are gross when I eat them cold. Sometimes I bring soup in a thermos, but I only like chicken noodle soup. I'm so tired of eating the same thing 5x a week. So any ideas would REALLY help.

OMG, I know exactly what you mean, It's really hard coming up with ideas for lunch. Maybe you could try a salad, they sell salad in bags with pre-packaged croutons and dressing, they have all different kinds Cesar and Mexican are my favorite, you can usually find them in Publix. For a cool snack I like to bring Yoplait Whipped Yogurt, and unfortunately by the time I eat lunch, it has already melted, so I put in the freezer the night before, and it's perfect for lunch. i also make a tostada sometimes for lunch, i use the flat circular tostada shell. then i spread re-fried beans on top, then salsa, shredded chicken, cheese, and then on top sour cream. Then I put it in the oven until the cheese is melted. It's really good. I also like to eat Baked chips like Baked Sour Cream and Cheddar Ruffles on the side. I bring a lot of leftovers to school, but that's because I go to a very small private school, and I have access to the microwave. I hoped I helped!

You could try bringing a salad to school... Pack a salad with some grilled chicken meat, and make sure to put the dressing in a separate container so your salad doesn't get all grose. If you like tuna, tuna salad and crackers are always good but it is smelly... You could pack crackers and turkey and eat the turkey with the crackers. Fruit is always good to add to lunches. If you like peanut butter or almond butter you can put that between two pancakes or on bread. I always like a honey and almond butter sandwhich.

I have a bento lunch box... so usually when I pack my lunch, rice is ok to eat cold. You could try at home to see fi you like rice cold.. just make sure it's hot when it goes into a container, seal the container and put it in the fridge... The steam should create moisture and the rice will be cold but not hard. You could also try to wake up early and pack your lunch before hand but that doesn't always work.

Pasta salad is really good. I mean the kind that has pepperoni and veggies in it, and it is always served cold. Ham (good, real, cooked, not deli) is also tasty when cold. You need to bring vegetables and fruits, usually those can serve as meals. Try ham, peanut butter, chicken salad, or tuna salad sandwiches. You could try tortilla wraps too, if you wanted to jazz up your turkey. Buy flatout or another kind of tortilla and fill it with lettuce, your fave meat, and cheese. If none of this sounds good to you, you could always pack dry cereal! (healthy of course).

wrap your turkey inside a tortilla. or put that same turkey inside a pita with all the fixins. otherwise make a pb and j sandwhich or roastbeef. spice your typical turkey sandwiches with various condiments and veggies and wraps. good luck!

Looks like you'll have to learn to be LESS picky, or live with the same old lunch.
