I have astigmatism in the left eye. I have been wearing contacts for 10 years and my vision has become much worse in the last 4 years and MUCH worse in the last year. I am now 27. I have difficulty driving at night and my vision is poor on the basketball court (the lights or the glossed flooring blurr my vision). My guess is either keratoconus or diabetic retinopathy. I want to rule out keratoconus because my condition seems to be unilateral (only in my left eye). Also, I haven't had a blood-sugar test (I'm doing that in 3 weeks) so my money is on D.R. Has anyone heard about a case like this? Any help would be great because I'm starting to think I may lose vision completely one day if this keeps up. I also fear corneal transplantation (AAAHHH!!))) :)

BTW, I already saw an opthalmologist and none of this is self-prescription. The info I provided is a combination of my opthalmologist and family physician. I am a student of medicine, not a pro, YET!

And if you can't spell correctly, then you aren't a doctor.

ok so what u mite want to do is...... talk to ur doctor about it and they can run a few test. if it worsens go to the hospital, explain ur situation and answer all of their questions. THEN u do research on all of ur options and then talk to ur doctor again

this is the kind of stuff that show why we (doctors) spend all our lifes studing and why is so wrong trying to make a self diagnose without any medical trainning using books or internet, please stop suffering thinking the worse and go to your ophthalmologist
