I can't get over this lady I served last night. She was with her two daughters, and a friend with two children. When they first were sitting down, the Mom pushed her daughter because she wasn't going to the seat she wanted her to. The daughter was in tears because she landed up against this pole with a sharp corner. The mom just laughed at her friend, and then shoved her to the seat. Then, I came back one time, the same daughter was in tears again- her look on her face was a cry for help. Then, I came back again, and her other daughter was just screaming. The Mom put her hands covering this young girl's mouth really hard saying shut up shut up shut up!!! I wasn't sure if that was enough to report it, but I did. I had to give my name and phone number, so I was wondering if this lady who I reported will know my name or anything like that- I wouldn't think so, but I'm just curious. I think her pushing the one girl just did it, I have a baby, and I could never do anything like that

The friend paid with a credit card, so I got the friend's name, and they went home together in one car, so I got the license plate number. I was iffy about calling, but thanks.. I do feel better for doing it. I'm sure they'd have suspicion- I wasn't the only server who noticed it. And there were other ppl around as well.

Children Services cannot give out your name, they have to keep that stuff strictly confidential. You did the right thing in reporting this woman. Child abuse is such a horrible thing and to have to witness it is even worse. I was an abused child and being the father of three I cannot even fathom how a parent could even think of doing that to their own child, let alone do it in public. I get very upset whenever I see someone being abusive towards their child so I am glad to know that I am not the only person bothered by it.

Thank goodness that you did report her, people like that shouldn't have kids. you did a good thing. You don't have to worry about the woman finding out because they do not release information. I too have reported someone to children's services and had to give my name and information the lady assured me that I had nothing to worry about because they do not release that information. I was actually considering taking the children into my home with me because the whole family is a waste and the lady from childrens services informed me that this women has been reported numerous times. I wasn't able to take the children in although it broke my heart when the little 6 year old boy came knocking on my door at 10 oclock at night telling me that he was afraid of his mommy and didn't want to be at home and asked if he could please stay with me in tears. Let me tell you how heartbroken i was. The mother did indeed end up losing her children i am unaware of where the kids are but I am happy that they are out of their mothers care. Don't worry you did a great thing.

First, whether your name is released or not, you did the right thing. That's important to remember. You did the right thing.
In general, children's' services will not release your name or contact information to this woman. However, if there is any type of a legal hearing surrounding this incident, you may be asked to testify. Giving your name and contact information simply makes it that much easier for the authorities to find you for that testimony, if need be.
Again, you did the right thing. In the long run, you could well have saved these children's lives, and nothing could be more important than that.

Yeah good for you!! That is so unacceptable!!! I have a baby as well and the thought of ever treating her that way, makes my stomach turn...and it makes me so sad to hear that there are people who treat their poor children this way. Kids are true gifts that will grow and make you proud if they are nurtured...this woman obviously doesn't grasp that meaning. Poor girls...I hope that mother get's severley repremanded. The fact that OTHER people noticed AND she was doing that in public shows that she doesn't give a rip about who sees and that it's not a big deal to her or her friend.. It's sick.
You absolutely did the right thing.

If the woman gets a lawyer, the lawyer might be able to subpoena the info on who made the report. It's different in different states, though. It's not very likely either.
Unless you had the woman's name and address, it's unlikely that they will be able to take any action, or even investigate.

Almost certainly not. When people report things like that, it's almost always done anonymously.
Plus it helps that it happened in a public place, because the possibly abusive mother can't pinpoint any one person about reporting it.

No, she will not find out it was you but in my opinion she should. even violent criminals have a right to meet their accusers. If you feel so strongly about protecting this child you should not feel the need to hide.
