Your conclusion is totally inconsistent with your premises. But of course by today's standards of criminal law, that's entirely how it should be. The problem is that we atheists and agnostics like to use logic as a standard, even the fuzzy variety, rather than completely ignore it, and substitute your modern versions of sophistry instead.
Suppose that the future of each bit of such "lives" were predictable, if allowed to develop. Should we then choose to let all future slaves, cretins, sociopaths, psychotics, semi-vegetables, pedophiles, and the like grow and multiply? You seem to have left these possibilities out of your deliberations.

Because not all atheists and agnostics are stupid enough to trust the government to know and do what is best for them or their children. Our government teaches its own soldiers to deny life to homo-sapien organisms. Criminal law is based upon the Constitution, and the Fourteenth Amendment specifies that a person is protected as of BIRTH.
"Pro-Choice" simply means that one believes that the WOMAN (a citizen protected by the Constitution) should make decisions affecting her body, based upon HER beliefs, rather than a GOVERNMENT that has no jurisdiction over or obligation to a fetus, and also no right to treat a pregnant woman as a slave.
Pro-Choice INCLUDES the choice of giving birth. As the Supreme Court admitted, WITHOUT the right to choose, women could be FORCED to have abortions against their will (like they are in China). Contrary to popular belief, abortion was NOT illegal before Roe v. Wade - it WAS performed with the GOVERNMENT'S approval. The government also has a seedy history with euthanasia and forced sterilization. Only the ignorant would trust it with a pregnancy.

if simply denying a life to come into existence is immoral, then we should all be spending all our time trying to reproduce, since otherwise life is denied. But obviously that's not a logical thing to do, since that would mean most people would be born without the means to support them, and our world would very quickly become overpopulated. It's not an "inconvenient" stage, I have no idea why you threw that word in there. I'm not "pro-life" because I think science shows that life does not begin from the moment of conception. My philosophy isn't "produce life as much as possible", but rather, my aim would be to bring a life into being when a decent life is possible, and when I am ready and willing to tend to that life.

Because not all atheists and agnostics accept the idea that a zygote or an embryo is a separate "life." Also, not all atheists and agnostics think that the rights of the potential should outweigh the rights of the already-living.

...Because apart from God, man is just "another animal" that can be exterminated if deemed a bother, a burden or unworthy of life.
...The issue becomes "my (supposed) rights", and my responsiblities before God do not come into play, since I imagine I am not subject to His wishes.
...It is incredible to me that an eagle egg is counted so precious, to be protected by law, but the most helpless of all beings, an unborn human baby, will not be recognized and can be executed at any time in 9 months, and can be even be murdered when 3/4 born. I say this to our shame. One who would commit these atrocities has to be very calloused, hard-hearted, and money-hungry.
...May God grant us forgiveness, and help us to respect and preserve the lives of unborn babies.
...Quote from Mother Theresa: "It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish."

Good question. but the answer is that Atheists don't view the embryo as a human life. It is not an individual with human rights. It is still a part of the life cycle NOT a seperate entity with life.
It relies on it's "host" for life. It is esentially a parasite. And it remains a parasite until birth, or until they move out of your basement and get a place of their own....whichever comes last...
Also, Atheist do believe that DEATH is a natural part of the cycle. If you look at nature there is NO sanctity of life. Life devours and kills life every second. Taking your logic it should be criminal to kill flies. Or to take showers washing off living skin cells, or to eat a fish or a hamburger it's killing life right?

I am agnostic and pro-life. Abortion is murder, plain and simple. I realize it's not murder under the current laws, but from an ethical perspective, taking the life of another is wrong. You could also ask why we don't murder people and get the same answer.
It's a common misconecption about us, but the fact is, we are happy people too, and we also believe in doing the right thing, only we don't do the right thing because we are threatened to do so due to being raised on fear. It's not a faith; it's lack there of. As long as I'm on this planet, you are all my brothers and sisters, even if I don't share your views and you don't share mine. I do hope that those who have had late term abortions die a slow horrible death via a rusty wire coat hanger so they can know what it feels like.
Wow, only 4 thumbs down? Life is rough as a free thinker. Glad to see you don't hold a grudge for those that share a different opinion. Is the negativity coming from the jealous religious people that aren't allowed to live my happy life, or is it coming from women dealing with the guilt of murdering their kids?

I wouldn't be surprised if we all are.
Do you mean anti-abortion? I don't think you've thought this through very carefully, have you? You certainly take thousands of actions every day that result in the destruction of life.

I don't know where you saw that atheists and agnostics were ALL pro choice.
I'm an agnostic, and I'm pro-choice BUT I don't believe abortion should be considered birth control.

I'm Atheist and i dont believe in Abortion, BUT i dont see how just because there is nothing after death that would make people pro life. it just doesn't really make any sense at all!!
So by you saying that, you're pretty much saying Christians can kill because... there is life after death?
