Drink slowly.
Start off with only a couple of drinks and build up over time.
Don't mix your liquors, stay with the same thing all night
Drink something every day, don't be a weekend binger.
Drink vodka during the day, it's easier to hide the smell.

I have to agree with most of the answers here.
First off, I have to say, I always thought that ole saying was:
"Liquor before beer, you're in the clear. Beer before liquor, you're even sicker!"
Still has the same meaning.....anyways.
I have only thrown up 1 time from drinking and I have MAD experience! That one time, I was mixing everything you could think of! (And also had taken a tylonel cold and sinus before because I was really stuffy) So - that didn't work well with me!
It was a rough night.
Needless to say, before and after that night, many many many times I have drunken WAY past my limit and never ever threw up. Just passed out!
So - make sure you do drink on a full stomach. And eating while drinking is very good too.
And it is ok to have a one drink a day. That does build your tolerence as well. A glass of red wine each day is just fine.
And then on the weekends, you can do what you want.
Believe me, I had my fair share of partying everyday and every night as a bartender and singer in a local band. After a while, you get sick of it real quick.
I still party but not nearly as much as before.
I have totally learned my limits and known when to stop drinking booze and start drinking water or non alcoholic drinks.
And last but not least, DO NOT MIX BOOZE.
Stick to the ole wise tale, and you should be good!
Hope that wasn't too much of an answer.
I am a little stoned right now, sorry!
GOOD LUCK and BE SAFE!
Make sure you don't drink and drive!

Haha you're gonna have to learn your limit by having some nights where you throw up. You'll figure out your limit and build up a little tolerance at the same time, just don't kill yourself! After that heres my tips for not throwing up:
-Don't drink on an empty stomach! And a late night trip to IHOP may you do some good afterwards too.
-Don't mix drinks, like for instance do not drink whiskey, vodka, and beer in the same night. If you must, this old line usually holds true, "beer before liquor, never sicker. liquor before beer, never fear"
-Finally, keep the drinks comin' but obviously don't drink too much too quickly. Shots will leave your head in the toilet going too fast.
good luck and happy chuggin!

You should be able to figure out your limit based on how you feel as you are drinking more and more. If not, you'll learn it eventually. . .The best way is to make sure you eat a while before drinking, instead of on an empty stomach. Also, drink TONS of water after you drink (like before bed or whatever). Drink tons of water, and take some tylenol (even if you feel fine still, you'll need the tylenol to be kicked in by the time you don't. ..)_ and you should wake up just fine.

Make sure you eat a subsequent meal, preferably high-carbs in the form of bread or pasta, maybe even some crackers. Something to not only coat your stomach, but to soak up a little of that alcohol. Also, try to have a snack or two while you are drinking to slow down the absorption. Drinking water through and after will prevent dehydration although I find I have to pee every five seconds if I do.

whatever you do dont drink water it activates the alcohol in your liver so basically your making youself more drunk, try drinking water or a 7up to stay hydrated without the water effect and im not pulling this out of my *** ask a doctor also try limiting shots and drink slowly throughout the night you can go past your limit and not throw up

Works for me. Once I feel that I might throw up I head outside take some nice deep breaths. This doesn't work for everyone. I rarely puke, but this not a good thing really Because your body is trying to rid itself of toxic poisoning Doesn't always make for a good next day when you are still really drunk & feel like crap.

drink a full glass of water in between each drink, then if by some miracle you still go over your limit and throw up you will recover a lot faster and not be so dizzy

Drink beer, stay away from the hard liquor or wine. Make sure you have eaten and drink plenty of water in between. Plus, it takes practice. Everyone gets sick their first few times.

Don't go all out when you first start. It's sort of like training for a marathon. If you try to run all 26.2 miles before training you'd be throwing up by mile 8.
