i got a puppy yesterday and the lady told me she was a chow mix, how can i tell that she is part chow ?

.All chow chows have a black tongue, and if a dog is part chow, it will also have a black or partly black tongue.

Does she have a black tongue? Or black spots on her tongue? Chows have black tongues. If she doesn't, then that could also mean that she got her tongue color from the other parent. Also, chows have thick muzzles, and they are very furry. Try looking at pictures of chows, and see if there is a resemblance. Also, if you posted a picture, i'm sure people on here could tell you if she looks like a chow.

look online at pictures of Chow's to see if traits are resembled. Also take her to the vet. Most breeders will not lie, unless they really don't know themselves

When you take her in for her puppy check up, ask your vet. They can point out characteristics that are generally chow.

You can't unless you look at the parents and one of them is a purebred chow.

you can tell if its a chow because it may have a purple tongue because i have a chow mixed with pittbul and her tongue is a little purple.

Any chow mix will have black spots on their tongue.

go onto an AKC site, ask your local vet, or just believe in the lady that you DID buy the dog from.
