This is almost the same question I asked my youth pastor, when I attended church. Only my question was, "If some person in a third world country, who has NEVER even heard of religion, but they live their lives morally.....will they go to heaven or hell?"
He said they'd go to hell......
That's when I left the church. I'm not going to be a part of a religion that condones a priest's molestation of an alter boy, and the forgivness of serial rapist/killers.

If the good honest person doesn't believe in God, why would he believe in Hell.
These beliefs are all very well, but you have to believe in them for them to have any affect. Much like voodoo ( which is also a religion, so give it some respect), if you don't believe in it it can't hurt you.
And stop picking on paedophiles, they're people too you know.
And applause for Destiny, the longest answer I've ever seen. (Possibly a bit obsessive, though)

Christian beliefs differ from Christian to Christian, church to church, denomination to denomination. There is an Old Hindu saying, "There are as many Hinduisms as there are Hindus." The same can be applied to Christianity to a large degree. I don't believe that anyone is going to suffer in Hell, for an eternity, or at all in condemnation at the hands of Satan. The God of the Bible would not allow Satan such power, will destroy Satan rather than allowing him to torment God's creation for an eternity, has in the past brought destruction quickly and thoroughly. God does not delight in torture and torment, but in justice, peace, order, love.

The degree of punishment will be commensurate with one's sin against the light which one has received.
One good passage that indicated degrees of punishment is Luke 12:47-48: "That servant who know his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be BEATEN WITH MANY BLOWS. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be BEATEN WITH FEW BLOWS. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked". Other verses on this issue include MAT 10:15; 16:27; Rev. 20:12,13; 22:12.
Jesus affirmed that the wicked "will go away to ETERNAL punishment, but the righteous to ETERNAL life" (Mat 25:460

Given that "no one is good except God" your question is based on a human judgement.
As for whether your "relatively good" person will suffer "just as a pedophile" would - I don't know. Scripture is unclear as to whether there are various layers of hell (although some tradition indicates there may be).

The Bible makes it clear that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead - you will be saved" - saved from eternal separation from God which is what hell is. "Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him."
So - goodness has nothing to do with it. Have you accepted Jesus Christ and trust in Him as your Savior? If not - hell is your eternal destiny......."good" and bad - all have the chance to repent and be saved.

Yes,if you don`t believe in God you will have to be judged by him for that.He gave us everything we have, every emotion we feel.Without him, nothing or no one would exist.Really think about that and take all of what I have said in.Now,is believing in him asking too much of us?

It takes more then simply believing or not believing.
God's word? Last time I checked, God doesn't talk to people and he didn't write the Bible. Blame men for organized religion and it's flaws.
