My daughter has the same thing and I have to squeeze it to drain it every few months. I know it sounds gross. You might want to have it checked out by your doctor. Good luck.

The ear will heal from the inside out and the tissue inside will cause this bump to develop... it may reduce in size if you reinsert the earring however it may take awhile before it does.

Even if you choose not to reinsert the earring, make certain that you treat the area with 3% peroxide, alcohol or a cleaning solution that may have been provided to you by the piercing studio.

Sea salt 1tsp to 6-8 oz of warm water used prior to the peroxide will ensure that you don't have the ear get infected.

I'd suggest trying the earring in again...if for nothing more than to allow it to heal further without problems...this of course will be provided that the area is always kept good and clean and the earring is turned daily.

Good luck

Actually, what you have is called a calcium deposit. Which pretty much explains its self! They do not go away, and if you decide to have your ears pierced again, it will have to be in a different spot since the piercing cannot go through the deposit. They can be sensitive to touch and can actually get bigger. The best advice I can give is to leave it alone doll.

I have my ears pierced, but felt I kind of grew out of it, so I son't wear them any more.
4 months later, the bumps are still there. I had mine done for 3 years. Eventually, they will go away, but it will take a lot of time.

The bump is normal. I still have them with my peirced ears. It does not go away. I think it has something to do with the cartilage in your ear. The higher up the ear, the bigger the bump I think.
