I used to work in a tiles shop and we used to sell LTP products (see below), sealents for floor. You can buy some gloss sealent one to add shine. Hope that helps.

You can try cleaning and polishing them then add a sealant to protect them. A lot of these can be found at a local tile store. Cleaning them is the easy part and can be done with warm water and a mild soap but the polish and sealant may be a bit more tricky. You can follow the directions on the package or ask the employees where you buy the products.

go down to a hardware store purchase floor wax apply evenly w/a loop mop on floor repeat 3 times letting wax dry between coats. remember to clean floor before appling wax.good luck

How long are you living there? Are you renting? A friend of ours just put polyurethane on them. It looked great for hte 9 months she lived there. They screatched up towards the end, but not her problem.

my wife washes our kitchen floor using hot soapy water with vinegar added...also the windows, kitchen surfaces and even rinses her hair in vinegar after washing !!! (Mad)
saying that it does leave a nice shine.. Give it a go..
