Spanish..y is it soooo hard?

i'm in Spanish class having never spoken Spanish at all.My mother speaks it but it doesn't really help me. Call me stupid and dumb and stuff, but i just cant seem to see how someone could write a paragraph, IN SPANISH, about what they are going to do over the summer!! I mean even if you weren't really going to do that something over the summer, still.. how could someone do that? that's never spoken spanish or anything?? can you write a paragraph in Spanish about what ur going to do over the summer? and if u can please show me!!!!! i think it be REALLY cool to see a paragraph in spanish.

Este verano mi familia y yo vamos a ir a la playa en Cancun. Siertas cosas que voy haser durante mi viaje es nadar en el mar, bocear, ir a bailar, pacearme en una lancha y tal vez pescar. Estoy muy desesperada por irme ya que tengo entendido que Cancun es un lugar maravilloso con su cultura y vistas.

This means:

This summer my family and I will be going to the beach in Cancun. A couple of things I will be doing during my trip will be swim in the ocean, scuba dive, go dancing, take a ride in a boat and probably go fishing. I am very desperate in leaving since I understand that Cancun is a marvelous place with its culture and scenery.

Hahahahaha. You sound just like me: "Why why why???" But once I got past that point, I started learning it very quickly. It just takes dedication and determination.

That being said, Spanish is not easy. But if you really concentrate and try hard, it will get easier. I promise.

Este verano, voy a ir a Costa Rica para un mes. Eso es para visitar mis amigos que tengo de mi visita anterior en el verano de 2006. Estoy muy emocionada porque mi mama puede venir conmigo. Quiero mostrarla todo que yo vi el ano pasado. Tambien, voy a viajar a Arizona para visitar amigas alli. Este verano va a estar un verano lleno de amigos para mi! :-)

This summer, I am going to go to Costa Rica for a month. This is to visit my friends that I have from my last visit in the summer of 2006. I am very excited because my mom can come with me. I want to show her all that I saw last year. Also, I am going to travel to Arizona to visit friends there. This summer is going to be a summer full of friends for me! :-)

My accents may be off, I haven't written anything in Spanish for years, but I don't expect you to copy this, it's just an example. I know you don't speak Spanish, so I'll loosely translate it for you at the end.

Este verano tengo planes para ir a visitar Marruecos. Es un país que me ha interesado por mucho tiempo, pero recién ahora tengo el dinero y tiempo necesarios para hacer un viaje así. Eso sería por dos semanas masomenos, y después de eso, probablemente me quedaría en Chicago (la ciudad donde vivo) a trabajar y a empezar a estudiar para los exámenes MCATS que debo tomar el año que viene para entrar a la escuela de medicina. Me parece verdaderamente ridículo empezar a estudiar con tantos meses de anticipación, pero he escuchado que esos exámenes son pura tortura! En el poco tiempo libre que me quedaría durante el verano, me gustaría pasar más tiempo con mis amigos y familia, ya que durante el año escolar los veo poco.

I think it's ridiculous to start studying so many months in advance, but I've heard those exams are pure torture! In the rare moments when I'll have free time during the summer, I would like to spend more time with my friends and family, since I don't see them a whole lot during the school year.

En este verano voy a visitar a mi familia en Mexico, pasare unas semanas alla. Me gusta visitar a mis viejas amigas, y especialmente comer toda la comida tipica de alla! Cuando voy a Mexico, me gusta visitar los centros comerciales y los salones de baile, me la paso tan bien, que cuando es tiempo de regresar me pongo muy triste.

Creo que puedes aprender Español. Debes hablar con tu madre y dile que quieres aprender mucho. Dile que debe ayudarte con tu Español. És muy importante que una madre y una niña hablan de sus problemas. Creo que las cosas cambian para el mejor para tí.

the best way to learn a language is not to question it. if you do, you will end up driving yourself crazy over the grammar that is typically different from your native tongue.
