haha they hurt enough for me to say OUCH! and have my feet cramp up. well that happend one time where i got 2 carrilage piercings at the same time.. but i got my rook pierced 2 weeks ago and it wa a pinch.. it did bleed. but trust me its a quick pinch. and if you mom is cool she will take you to a professional body piercer they use holow needles and it will be alot less painful and traumatic to your ear compared to if you got it done wiht a gun!. please get it done professionally. but i have 4 total. it is a quick pinch but then its sore for a week or so.. but you will be fine! the pain is bearable trust me! the pain is only temporary!

Cartilage will sting, but the actual act of piercing in a basic gauge, 12 or 14, isn't that bad. It's about three seconds and then the clean up. The more you take out and gauge it (smaller number, bigger hole) the more it will hurt. If you do decide to get it done go to a shop where they use a hollow needle. It will hurt less, is safer, and faster. Pain varies by person, I have a really high pain tolerance so none of my four cartilage piercings, including one double piercing, hurt to get done. Don't be nervous going into it and you'll do fine. Keep it clean, if you have questions call the piercer or go see them. Feel free to email me if you want to see a picture of my double piercing to get a better idea of what I mean. My nose hurt more than anything when I got it done, and that was my most recent even though I had to take it out. Cartilage is fast, it's tender for a bit and can bleed if you play with it too much but if it's done right and your body doesn't have reaction to it you should be fine.

Nose - 1. Everyone's pain tolerance is different. For me, it wasn't that painful at all. Probably like a 3 on a scale of 1-10. 2. My piercer didn't. He freehands his piercings and the needles go into a receiving tube so there is no way for the needle to poke at you while he's putting the jewelry in. Some piercers will use cork to avoid that. 3. Sea salt soaks for all piercings - 1/4th of a teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt to 8oz of hot water. Soak it twice a day for 5-10 minutes each soak. A lot more efficient and cheaper to make your own soaks rather than buying the spray. 4. It will probably be sore for awhile. Everyone's experience is different like I said but mine was sore for probably a week or two. But it wasn't like deathly painful. 5. 4-6 months for healing time, wait until it is completely healed to change it. Cartilage (Helix) - 1. Same with nose. Everyone's pain tolerance is different. I've had four different cartilage piercings and all felt different and hurt different. 2. Sea salt soaks twice a day 3. They can take anywhere from 6-12 months to heal all the way and you need to wait until it is completely healed to change it 4. Absolutely. Chlorine is NOT good for piercings like some people seem to think. Also, anywhere you're going to swim is going to be filled with bacteria. You should not emerge any unhealed piercing underwater if you don't want to risk infection, irritation, and prolonged healing. 5. I found my cartilage hurt a lot longer than my nose did. I had one cartilage piercing that stopped hurting in like a month and another that took like 6 months to stop hurting. There's no telling what you will experience. 6. Either way you should NEVER get pierced with a piercing gun. They cannot be sterilized, the jewelry is improper, the people using them suck, the aftercare is wrong, they cause excessive trauma, etc etc. 7. Redness, swelling, itchiness, white/clear/light colored discharge (lymph), soreness, crust.

It will hurt, but its very tolerable. The worst part is that your ear is generally sore for the next few days. Just remember to calm down, take deep breaths and relax.

As long as you go to a professional piercer and have the piercing done the correct way with a needle, you'll be problem free.

I've had mine done twice. I have my ears, cartilidge, and navel done. Out of all of them the cartilidge was the easiest. It was not bad AT ALL. Promise. But, the gauge is not that big on mine. It's all in good fun. Good Luck

i just got cartilge pierced for 3rd time 2 days ago and...IT HURTS but only for 1 second you seriously only have the time to say OW and than it's over your ear will than get very red and hot but this goes away after 5 minutes

after i got my cartilege pierced (5 mins after) I got ear lobe and let me tell you ear lobe is nothing compared to cartilege

than again my cartilige earring was the biggest one they would pierce it with and was also a barbell...I remember before I got a 12g (very small) on the top top of my ear and that didnt hurt anymore than the lobe so i guess it depends on earring size...

It didn't hurt me at all, and I had mine done with a 16-gauge needle. Honestly, all I felt was a push, no pain whatsoever when the needle went through. Getting my lobes gunned was more painful than that was.

i recently got the cartiliage in my ear pierced and it was only as painful as the lobe piercing. however, i do have to consider the shape and style of the earring i wear in it if i wear it for extended periods as it gets sensitive a lot more than my earlobe

I have one in right now, and I also had another one as well. (Including a tragus too) Out of all three none hurt. Compared to my navel (just like the navel), it was NOTHING! I swear...pain tolerances are different, but you will be a ok!!!
