lots of ppl call me that... n my best friend told me i was depending on what mood im in...i dont wanna ask ne1 what it means cuz they willl call me stupid...so what exactly is a stuck up??

it's when you give the impression that your better then everyone else and that you just don't have time to speak to most people. Don't walk around with your nose in the air, make sure you talk to everyone, or at least close to everyone. Just cuz someone isn't in the same group as you are in school doesn't mean that they shouldn't get the same respect as you give others. Treat everyone the same, cuz one day you will be glad you did. You don't want to get stuck with the name of stuck up or snot or Miss goody two shoe or anything like that. I would rather have some of the other names out there, then to be told I'm stuck up. Good luck and just remember, treat everyone as you want to be treated!!!

A stuck up person thinks they're better then "everyone else". Good people realize that they're no better then anyone, even if they don't wear the same cloths, have the same values or like the same things. They treat everyone the meet with the same respect they expect from anyone.

I.E. A non-stuckup popular girl would be friends with the most unpopular girl in school.

As my grandpa used to say, treat everyone nice because you never know, that person you treated like s**t could end up being your boss some day.

I believe that it derrives from when people were considered "uppitty" or "feeling above someone else" they would raise their chins as to seem "bigger and better" than the other person, therefore, it would seem like their noses were sticking up in the air, hence: a "stuck up."

If your friends are calling you names and then not even telling you what it means it is either because they don't know what it really means, they're too afraid to tell you since they cannot sit down and explain thing in a nice way.

Depends on the circumstances, to me it sounds as if she thinks some days that you are not very talkative to her and ignore her. Sounds as if she wants more of your attention, than you are giving her. People call people certain names when they are not happy with how you are acting towards them, don't take it personal, everyone has bad days. Who knows maybe you were sick the day she said you were acting stuck-up, and didn't feel like talking to her. And some people are more at ease being quiet in the back ground, doesn't mean your stuck-up just shy around or in certain places, or people.

I know quite a few ''stuck up'' people! basically think they are better than people- gods gift- the are arrogant- think they can do no wrong because they are always right- they only shop in certain shops, wear certain clothes because if you dont you are a tramp because the price isnt dear enough.
