Explain to her that you're only desperate when it comes to her, and if she still thinks badly of you, move on. I know it's easier said than done, but when a girl decides someone's clingy, it's an almost permanent turnoff.
And don't flirt with other girls. If you do, it'll look like you just want a girlfriend and don't care who.

Try not to act liek you like her TOO much. Cuz that could be perceived as desparate. Don't talk to her every day, just talk to her like, 2 or 3 days a week. Hang out with your friends, and other people. Hang out with other girls. She might notice how great you are when she's watching you from afar.

Continue to be yourself, desperate or not, you like the girl, express it in whatever way you are capable of... if she will respond she will, and if she wont, there is nothing you can do about it.

If you don't want her to think your desperate, you can always play hard to get, and not pay her much attention.
