There is an extreme shortage of workers in the kalgorlie region of west Australia. People are paid big money to go and work there doing just about anything. I believe if you are prepared to go there for a while you can get imigration easily . It is a mining industry town experiancing some sort of boon. it is hot and dry it is about 6 hours away from Perth by car.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but there isn't much hope for you. Australia has stringent requirements for immegration. The very first requirement is that you are either self sufficient (rich) or sponsered by your employer. If you are planning to go there as a tourist and just stay, well you need a visa just to begin the process, then you must produce a round trip ticket. Australia will track you down and deport.

Look, we have enough skilled AND unskilled people here looking for a permanent OR casual job.
Many industries are closing down, people are losing their jobs...jobs are going off shore to places such as China and other parts of Asia.
I suggest you go to China perhaps...might be plenty of work there.

Excuse my little Aussie rant...lol
I suppose there ARE ways of getting here and getting a job...if done through the proper channels. I suggest you enquire at the nearest Australian embassy regarding work here...You may be able to get a work permit of some kind.

45 is generally the upper age limit for skilled migrants coming to live in Australia. Without any paperwork relating to your trade there is practically no chance that you would be granted a permanent residency visa. Check http://www.immi.gov.au/ if you want a second opinion. Sorry!
