i think that going to church together is a good step. keep doing it faithfully. see if that leads to maybe dinner afterward. maybe he can convince ur mom he is a stand up guy. and if she says he is cheating, make her call the lady and have her tell u. chances are she wont cuz she is lying. moms just get real scared that their daughters are gonna get used. shes just trying to protect u. do what u can to prove he is a real good guy and that u are willing to wait until u finish high school cuz shes prolly scared u will run off with him and not get an education. maybe u can all sit together and have a talk about the depth of your feelings for each other and how u both have goals and dont plan on doing anything to harm each others future.

You might think you love him so much right now, but give it some time. I thought I was SO in love at 16, and it was intense feelings. Wait til you get older and experience life more before you commit yourself to one person. You should also do some checking in on this woman that he is rumored to be seeing. Being married and having kids doesn't mean anything to some people.

Its hard for a parent to believe that her 16 yr. old is "in love".I have a 15 yr.old son who is in love with a 17 yr. old girl, and at first I didn't believe him,I thought it was just puppy love, but they both proved me wrong! She is the most sweetest girl I have ever met,and I can see when they are together they are "IN LOVE!".
They have been together now for one year 2/15/07!!! I know now that its for real and someday hope to have her for a daughter-n-law.So just give your mom a little more time,I think she'll come around!

Stop!!! You're a minor and this adult is taking advantage of you. You're parents know what's best for you. They're not just trying to get into your pants like he is. You are so young that you'll both probably regret getting those tattoos eventually. If you love him so much and think you're mature enough to be involved with him, wait til you're 18. Love for a girl is much different for a MAN!

Listen to your mother!!!!! Weather or not this guy is in love with you or not it's not right that he would take advantage of a younger girl. (And trust me he is) Your young and naive. You just don't know any better. It's easier to control some one who is younger then try and be in a relationship with some one who would be a equal to him. Nothing good will come from keep seeing him behind your parents back. Your parents love you and don't want to see you in any trouble. Listen to them. You don't want to finish school (if your able to) being "that girl" who some older guy got pregnant and lefted her. Be smart get out while you can. And if you don't believe me that he is passive and controlling then break him with him and see what his reacting is? He will get angry, obsessive . And then you will see the real person you think your in love with.

You can't. Unless you want to go to the trouble of getting legally emancipated from your mother, which will cost a lot of money and be moot in two years anyway, your best bet is to wait her out.

Unless you plan to go to college with her paying, in which case it would be six years or more.

Based on what you describe, I would consider the possibility that you mother is right. Particularly since you nowhere mentioned what your father's opinion is.

My mom didn't like my honey for quite a while and he didn't really like her. Now they get along famously. I guess it takes time. Sit down with her and talk to her. Ask her how she would have felt if her mom didn't approve of her first love and how she treated him. With parents sometimes you have to present it to them and have them look at it from there own point of view from when they were your age. Or even in a similar situation

Tell her flat out that you don't like what she is trying to do and you really love him, but you respect her position looking out for you and such. Don't automatically discard what she said about the other woman, you never know.

You go to church, right? You might want to think about "Honor thy father and mother". They know what's best for you. If you still have feelings for him when you're 18 then you can do whatever you want.
