I had a bad experience with Banfield too and will never go back. I have heard that with their Optimum Wellness plan they will not only spay/neuter (which is a good thing) but they also include declawing (which is horrible). I hope you did not get that done for that would be a good reason why your cat is traumatized.
I would suggest getting some Feliway and spray it daily until your cat is back to normal. It is a great product that will reduce her stress. Just give her lots of TLC and never take her to that place again. And I would call and tell them about it. Let them know you will never go back.

They may have sedated her but did they give her anesthesia ? She could have felt the whole thing but been too sedated to move. Call the vet and tell them about it. Not eating is serious. It they act like it is no problem, say that it IS a problem to you and your cat and that you want some answers. Call elsewhere to other vets and get their opnions also. Give her some time also. Cats hate the vet. I am sure she felt violated and not in control.

ok.
#1.why need to extract feces? they could have told you to bring in a stool sample!
#2.why didn't they tell you ahead of time why and what tests they were sedating her for?
#3 and most important get another vet.
our poor baby was tramaized by one vet at the clinic where we take her. we made sure that that particular vet will have no contact with her again. when we made her next appt. they said that that vet was tehre on that day i said no,they asked why, and i said you you appreciate someone giving you a shot and having the needle go in one side of your a** and back out of where they put the injection?
alot of vets shouldn't even be in the practice.animals feel pain and trauma too, just like humans
your cat has a beautiful name and a human that really loves her

I have been to a Banfield in my area and they are so big now that you are just a number to them!!!! I was not impressed and they are all about the BUCKS...they should have told you to bring in a stool sample!! that was soooo unnecesary!!!not sure about the urine sample... thats not usually checked unless they are having issues!!!...... they had to traumatize her in order to hold her down and give her the shot of sedative!! after 2 days she should have the effects of the drugs worn off by now, call someone.... you can go to my old bosses website (listed below) and e-mail her she might have some suggestions for ya...sound like you really need a housecall vet....
there are housecall vets everywhere!!!do a search in your area!! or look around in your phone book or call your local vets and they usually have the phone numbers for 'em... you may have to pay for the housecall fee but to me its worth it!!! the stress is minimal and your baby will appreciate you sooooo much more... I worked for one and loved her to death!! check out her page....
www.carinrennings.com
(the picture on the front is me/her/and her cat..smile)
that kinda tells you a little more about housecall vets... there are both western and some are more holistic type but there is so much less stress!!! try it you'll be hooked too...smile good luck
ps: there is a holistic remedy you might want to try for her aggresion...its called "rescue remedy" you can get it at almost any health food store and its totally safe!!! just a few drops in her food and it will take her edge off.. it WILL NOT drug her...
EDIT: I am not sure who is going around giving thumbs down to all the questions but thats really unnecesary!! I see alot of great answers and dont see a reason for the negative feedback...IS SOMEONE HAVING A BAD DAY??? go get a life....this poor lady just wanted some help and I see alot of people trying to help... let her make her own judgements and stop the HATING!!!

The medication used to sedate your cat may very well still be in her system, she just has to metabolize it. Although this usually is through a cats system in 24 hours, she could still be having residual effects. Give her another day for it to run through her system, she will return to normal. It's not the vet's fault. Some cats just don't do well at the vets and she's obviously one of them. To keep her healthy though, continue with the yearly vet visits. Maybe prior to your next visit, your vet can prescribe a tranq that you can give her at home, before she even gets there.
good luck.

She is probably just feeling violated now. If she had vaccinations, they can cause a fever for a day or two. Banfield is pretty aggressive when it comes to recommending the un-necessary to add to the total bill as dictated by the corporation ownership. Its not that it is bad medicine... but you probably didn't need half the stuff they ended up doing. I'll bet your bill was $200+ too.

Poor baby! I'd be traumatized too! Call your vet and see if they gave her anything that she might have had an allergic reaction to - particulary if they gave her a sedative. She might be having a hard time coming off of it. Depending on what tests were done, she may be reacting to something else that was put into her system as well. I would definitely call the vet.

Give her lots of extra love. Next time you go to the vet ask that they do NOT do any extra procedures such as extracting urine. That would be traumatizing to me too.
Has she pooped since you got her home? Is she drinking? Those would be really important to check for.
