I don't fear death. I know where my eternity will be. However, that being said. I like my life and I am happy to stay on earth and never die. But I know that is impossible. I hate death actually, for robbing me of the people I have loved so much. And sure, I have been told that if they are in the same place I end up, we will all meet again. Yippee! It still does not stop the sadness and the heartache of the loss of a loved one now, here, on earth. So I don't fear death, but death sucks!

A lot will say they don't, but when the time comes I bet they are little more scared than they care to admit. I think all have a fear of the unknown. I wouldn't say I fear it, but curious to be sure. One never knows what to expect or if it will be as some have described in near death experiences. I only wish I don't suffer in agonizing pain before I go. That is my ONLY wish. I just want to drift off and go, peacefully. My Lord will protect me at this point. I have faith.

I think people fear the manner of death and the physical look of death (and even the loss of a loved one through death) more than death itself.

honestly no.

I follow bushido, and have done since i was 8.
And was always taught to think about my own death every day, in many different ways.
Accept it will happen and move on, and only then will you become free from it's fear and be who you want to be,and do what you want to do.
It's why i became a cop.

there are so many people in my line of work, and the firefighters, and ambulance crew and those who just have to accept it is likely to happen soon, and get on with it.

Which one? The physical death or the spiritual death. I fear the spiritual death. The physical death is merciful the spiritual death is merciless.

Jesus rose from the dead. He is a spirit being now. He is alive and well. everyone else will raise or change when it is time. Then we have another death to worry about. The spiritual death.

Personally, I don't fear the prospect of being dead, its just the actual process dying part that gets to me. Really, I'd rather not suffer a slow agonizing death...

Most everyone fears death unless they have been taught from birth that it is better to go to heaven by killing someone else or are mentally deranged by something or someone. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. There is no heaven, hell, or God. "What dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil?" ~

I dont fear death, I fear the act of dying. mostly because I am the worst when it comes to pain, and I dont want to be in pain... But as far as dying/being dead, I am totally at ease with it.

it doesn't matter what religion or lack thereof... people just fear death because it is a realm that no one reports back from... so no matter how much information is provided... so people freak out about this. not knowing things is scary!

not knowing how you will die is scary too. what if you don't get to say goodbye to your loved ones... or what if you do... and you see all the pain on their face... its sad.
