It's hard to describe. I like them in soups. It's like green onions but smoother.

Leeks are delicious! Use only the white and light green parts (shop for ones that are cut off some to save $$) Saute' them in butter and add to any soup or sauce recipe that would call for onion. Leek and potato soup is superb!

Leeks are best cooked, unlike green onions and regular onions, and have a very mild oniony flavor.

i put leeks in most of my dishes...they look like chives, only thicker and i just use them for a little extra oniony flavor but i don't eat them..^^ to me it tastes disgusting if i actually consume the vegetable

tastes alot like celery,but more,er,putrid!.its something between parsley,very very mature spring onions and ancient grass :(........no,i am not a fan!
