Mormons are bold enough to say "we believe that our church is true and is led by god, and if you want to know if that's true, you should ask god"
Many churches teach that all churches are "about the same" which is a spineless approach to religion.
Interestingly, churches that teach prayer, also teach their congregations NOT to pray about mormonism.
So, the most distrubing aspect of mormonism is this: What if they're right? That, by far, is the most difficult thing for people to accept.

The most troubling part of Mormon theology is that if the Mormons are right then everyone else is at least partly wrong and all the non-Mormons will have to repent and change their ways and join the Mormon Church, or they will not be completely right with God.

I think people have the hardest time believing in the vision Joseph Smith had and pretty much everything with Joseph. The sad thing is, I don't think most actually take the time to find out for themselves if what he did and said is true, they just go off anti-Mormon literature, falsehoods and misconception to base their "belief" of those events.
Instead, if a person really wanted to know, they should ask for themselves and ask the only one who would give them 100% honesty - God, our Heavenly Father. I would feel safe in saying those who have a testimony, an unwavering testimony, of Joseph Smith, have searched, pondered and prayed as to the truthfulness of his claims. I know I have and have received countless answers to prayers.

depends which ones you mean... the Utah ones are more different.. they believe God is married and Mr and Mrs God were Mormons on another planet long ago..
I think the most troubling is that Joseph Smith was searching for treasure with occultic divinging stones and found the 'book of Mormon' tablets when he was dabbling in the occult which Moses clearly condemned in the Bible.. But in the end like Islam, Mormonism dodges the Bible claiming it to be corrupt and superseded
In the end it really is a different gospel and a different Jesus If someone dabbles in the occult it should be no surprise if they get sidetracked to a different gospel and a differnt Jesus

What Mormon's use as the source and foundation for their theology: Joseph Smith being visited by an angel, and being given new information. It is in direct contradition to the Bible.
Galations 1:8 reads:
"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!" New International Version.

Well, I try and try and try, still I could not find any difficulty in accepting LDS belief.
I do not know why so many have a hard time to understand LDS.
I guess that is what happen when most people just hold on to one book, and reluctant to see the truth in another.
How disappointing.

That God exists and Jesus Christ, His Son, came to Earth to sacrifice Himself for the sins of mankind. After that, probably that God answers prayers and speaks to His children, providing personal guideance. That mankind is able to do as Jesus asked of us, to become perfect, albeit in Christ. That God and Christ would set up a church in modern times exactly like the church Christ established when He was alive on the Earth. That God would call prophets today just like he did in the times of the Bible (Why would he be the same? Wouldn't He change and think it unnecessary to give us guideance in a changing world?) That families are the most important thing in this life and after. Boy, I could go on. Peculiar stuff. For me though, the most difficult thing is paying 10% of my income just like they did in the Bible! Doesn't God realize we live in different times...I need my plasma and HD!

The idea the bible is corrupted in every instance where there is disagreement with the book of Mormon. They totally deny the truthfulness of scripture wherever it conflicts with the book of Mormon. As though the bible is not the standard but the book of Mormon is the standard to which the bible must conform.
This is heresy. Totally irresponsible and is in contradiction to their pretended assertion the Bible is the Word of God. It is completely unscholarly and unchristian to gauge the accuracy of the bible simply by it's conformity to the book of Mormon.

Had I anything to do with the *****, I would confine them by strict law to their own species, and put them on a national equalization" (Joseph Fielding Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 270; History of the Church, 5: 218; emphasis added). Those who were less valiant in pre-existence and who thereby had certain spiritual restrictions impose on them during mortality are known to us as the negroes. Such spirits are sent to earth through the lineage of Cain, the mark put upon him for his rebellion against God, and his murder of Able being a black skin. . . .
