tells me that people understand that atheists are wrong.

No, the Christian shirt will get a more negative response.

I hate to tell you this, but the whole world is not Christian, so it wouldn't make much of a difference. And then there are people who don't like being a "preaching hostage" because they are too polite to say otherwise. With an atheist, they don't have to worry that that person will lean towards them in a crowded airplane and say "Do you believe in Jesus?". Because if you were sitting next to me, you wouldn't want to hear my answer.

The biggest problem I see is that you're trying to provoke hostility with these questions. Most of the time you won't find Christians wearing T-shirts that profess that they're Christians. Who cares....where as the Atheist is doing it more often then not to provoke some reaction from a Christian. Just like this question dude.....what are your motives here? that's the better question...Isn't this alittle like in elementary school. Grow up! it seems to me that you're the one trying to cause hate and contention with asking idiotic questions like this!!!! go someplace else to play!!!!! Gee after a break from here it still hasn't gotten any better, a bunch of idiot atheists just trying to get a rise out of Christians who have serious questions. .....I thought Yahoo was going to fix the problem, looks like they haven't gotten rid of all the delinquents yet!!!!! OH and don't bother, I don't want the points, I'm just calling it how I see it!!!!!

Define atheist t-shirt. Don't think I've ever seen one.

Can't say I care for generalizations of either persuasion. Maybe this says I'm not a very good Christian, but depending on its message, I would probably find myself laughing about it.

atheists are widely portrayed as the immoral people, simply because there's no heaven or hell, hence no reason to do good things. this is false. atheists believe in the human's natural ability to feel empathy, compassion, and concern for other human beings. man was also born with respect for society, law, and order. in fact, there are more christian criminals than atheist. atheists also tend to have a higher level of education (generally speaking, so don't get your little theology professors up here.) if anything, religious people are less immoral for using a bribery like heaven and blackmail like hell to keep people doing good things, instead of people just doing good things based on the ethics they are born with.

You are making up stories. Anybody can do that. Look if you don't like Jesus or Christians then just say it. Don't pretend it is about t-shirts. Have some intellectual integrity.

Pop quiz, hotshot....
On the whole how many of EITHER T-shirt have you actually seen? I live near Boston, and work in numerous towns and have yet to see either category. Somehow I think I would.
Somehow I don't buy the "Hate through the T-shirt" conspiracy catching on.

It just tells me that, currently, insulting Christians is a huge political no-no, while insulting Atheist doesn't have quite the same impact.

There are more of them and they are the overall majority. Whatever does not follow the majority is seen as wrong or bad. I don't believe this necessarily reflects on Christians in particular, but on humans in general.
