To Take = Tomar (Infinitive)

Took = Tomé (I), tomaste, (you -singular-), tomó (he, she, it), tomamos (we), tomaron (you -plural- , they)

Example:

We took a break = Nosotros tomamos un descanso.
We took a break = Tomamos un descanso.
We took a break = Nosotros descansamos.

Note: Be careful because as "Eduardo h" has already said the verb in spanish could be interpreted as "drink". It depends on the context of the sentence.
