When a US soldier driving a hummer in iraq hits every vehicle in front of him (to scare them into pulling over so he can drive faster).

or starts shooting up the freeway for fun.

Is it possible that one of these these drivers might decide to pick up a gun?

what should the US government do about it?

that was my point
pick up a gun= join the insurgency
maybe they might kill an american before they get killed.

thanks for the links to the video, I saw he hit 4 cars + a bus in the first 90 secs of the video, then he started driving on the wrong side of the street.

Is this a rhetorical question? During my 18 months in Iraq I never saw a single incident you have alluded to. Any proof? By the way, that was a rhetorical question.

In discussing with army buddies their experience in Iraq and some strategies they learned while pulling combat duty their advice was simple for certain bad neighborhoods: Don't stop. To stop is often to die. Insurgents use tactics like setting traffic to slow down american vehicles, which makes them targets to IEDs, small arms fire, RPGs and a host of other attacks.

As such, Iraqis know they are to yield the right of way. If a hummer were to stop for traffic and get attacked, you could rest assured that more iraqis would be hurt (and more likely killed) than if the hummer picks the easiest way through traffic and simply keeps going.

The burden of it now lies on Iraqis. They have the choice to fight the insurgency or to lie complacent to it. As long as they lie complacent to it then America will have to fight to cut it down. If the Iraqi citizenry can develop the sterner stuff it takes to storm the streets and retake their cities from a violent minority gone wild, then maybe terrorists can be forced from a country where they are not wanted and American soldiers will not have to fear for their lives every time they go downtown.

you really need to check your facts on this one. The soldiers do not shoot anything for FUN, thats just stupid and shows your intellect about the entire situation.
As for the driving....soldiers don't act in that manner either. They don't however stop at all stopsigns because insurgents actually sit there and wait. They have also been known to cause traffic problems so they can get a better aim at the soldier.
So you really need to look at this from a survival point of view, instead of the view inside your ***.

a lifelike question. The unit will evacuate the continues to be once attainable, and take the kit. each and every from time to time, fix of the body has to watch for the capturing to end, and then the GR's get the soldier. interior the military, there's a distinctiveness said as Graves Registration specialist. those are the individuals that extremely practice and manage the continues to be.

Ur a complete idiot. first of all, everything we do is for our protection. have you heard of ied's (improvised explosion devices)? i take it you haven't. most of the soldiers dying in iraq is due to the fact there are dozens of ied's on about every main track to travel on to get from point a to point b. do you ever watch the news? they use vehicles to blow us up! **** they use crap as small as a cell phone. another problem is people will get in the way on purpose to delay convoys to set up a trapt for snipers which recently happen to a friend. how about u quit with ur nonsense.

by the way, u answered a question earlier and had a message to me in ur answer. i had a job that wasnt military or working for the government before i came in. i enjoyed it and the people there miss me to this day. im getting out in a few years and im going to get another job that isnt military or government. i know who pay the taxes. i still do as well dipshit and my family and friends do back home. quit being a ignorant asshole and how about u ****** quit exploring the net and watching tv coming up with ur own made up stories about war.

When a convoy slows down or stops it gets ambushed, if a driver picks up a gun he gets shot............... It's a common tactic to slow down a convoy with a slower civilian vehicle, so the troops don't allow that to happen. any Iraqi with a gun is seen as a insurgent and treated accordingly.

Driving fast through certain areas is a tactic. The slower a US vehicle goes the more vulnarable they are to small arms fire and IEDs.

Why don't you go over to Iraq and drive around nice and slooooow!

I've seen the videos of incidents like this on youtube and filecabi.net. I do understand why some iraqis would hate americans based on these actions. The few souldiers who do this should be charged with the same crimes they would be charged with if the acts where commited here is the US. I think it is repulsive and ridiculous that these things are allowed to happen. A handfull of soldiers can make an entire country look bad to these people.

I don't think this person is saying they do not support our troops. Some of these troops make home videos of incidents in which they act in an innapropriate manner and post these videos for the public to see. I don't support the individuals who do this. I definitely support our troops!
MAYBE YOU SHOULD WATCH THE VIDEOS BEFORE MAKING STATEMENTS!

Are you kidding me? It truly IS a wonder we ever made it to the moon or even built an airplane.
What about when Americans pluck out eyeballs from small children just for fun huh?
Shooting up the freeway for fun...lmao.
All they do is for security of our troops.
I support the troops.
Maybe you should too...
Isolated incidents happen. it is a horrible shame.
And then I remind you we raised these troops when they were kids, we sent them over there to serve our country.
They are ours.
Every citizen that wants to critisize must first take a long look in the mirror.
That is who is responsible!
Each one of us!

The rules of engagement are clear. Do not fire unless fired upon!

If it is proven that a soldier broke this rule then they would face UCMJ and most likely court martial!
