i just got married a little over a year ago, and i was very dissatisfied with the customer service at david's bridal. they get so many customers, especially for bridesmaids' dresses, that customers who aren't spending a small fortune often get treated poorly. and i am not the only one who has had this experience--i've heard many complain about the poor customer service at david's.

i would recommend trying a few independent boutiques, and look at the racks of discontinued dresses there. i found a dress by a nyc designer that was layers of 100% silk, simply gorgeous, and had just been discontinued a couple of weeks prior. the price was slashed from $4k to $400! granted, i had to buy it off-the-rack and get it altered elsewhere, but that was the easy part, after finding the dress (a retired seamstress beautifully altered my dress and added a bustle for only $85!). the veil i bought there was discontinued too, slashed from $250 to $50. the woman who helped me find my dress owned the boutique, so she was very attentive and knew her stuff. plus, i felt good supporting a business owned by someone local, instead of a national chain.

lots of towns also have wedding dress consignment shops. check your local yellow pages.

best of luck to you, and congrats! :)

The best place in the world for wedding dresses is david's bridal!!! I got a gorgeous dress for $300 and my bridesmaid dresses for around $150 each. It was a steal.

Depends where you are...that will usually help ppl answer your questiosn....but here goes as stated in a previous answer i gave...

Try:
-Group USA
-Forever & a Day Bridal (online store but if you have your measurements they can make it)
-Alfred Angelo (i applied for a credit line through the designer while at the Bridal Show and was approved for more than enough to get my dress..its my dream!) They have ordered it and will be ready to pick up in 12wks

Hope this helps....was searching for mine as well

Definitely David's Bridal. I searched and finally went to David's Bridal and couldn't believe I wasted my time anywhere else.
Inexpensive, beautiful, quality, really professional showroom/dressing room, wonderful help.

david's bridal is good they have their 99 dollar dress sales or you might try ebay--remember wedding dresses are (usually) only worn once!
