OK let me clear this up for you. Many, many years ago, before we had the advances in health care, that we do now, doctor's would operate on patients with cancer. They would operate on , lets say, the stomach, they would remove the cancer, not knowing that the cancer had already spread to the lungs etc. And wala!!!The myth was born that if you expose cancer to air, it will grow. It is totally untrue. Sometimes cancer just spreads regardless of all efforts that the docs make. Some cancer is more aggressive than others. That's what totally sucks about the disease.

Of course not. And it's PROSTATE, not prostrait.

I had my cancer removed and it's been gone for 7 years. So did my sister. Those people it spread in......they had probably a stage 3 or 4 cancer. There isn't much you can do with that. You have to catch it in stage 1 or 2 at the latest.

I didn't know anyone still believed that old wive's tale! I'm here to tell you I had surgery for breast cancer 16 years ago and surgery for ovarian cancer 2 years ago. My CA125, cancer indicator, is normal so there is the answer to your question.

No! In some the cancer will grow no matter what. For my husband and son, surgery removed everything.

To be frank when a cancer of prostate is diagnosed it's already late or too late. The only metasteses that make life miserable is when patient starts developing pathological/phyiologial fractures of bones.
Any way we try our level best and leave the rest to Al-Mighty Allah.

Many cancers metastisize (spread) to other areas...that's what cancer does. Many tumors are resected (operated on) before radiation treatment as the best treatment. This is known to be effective. Some tumors are completely resected and never return.
