How is it possible that they were all waiting for their messiah and Jesus wasn't good enough? Were they disappointed and wanted someone decked in gold or what? and if jews don't believe in Jesus why are they so quick to use his name as a curse?

It's been over 2000 years and we're still having wars over this stuff. You'd have to be blind if you think openmindedness can solve all the world's problems.

I'm sorry that you think that Jesus 'isn't good enough' for the Jews ... because Jesus WAS 'a Jew' ... and many good JEWISH people simply 'don't believe in Jesus' as their "MESSIAH" because he didn't fit their idea of what a MESSIAH is. They use 'his name' as a curse simply because it's a 'common way to swear' and has nothing to do with whether they believe Jesus was their messiah or not. You need to do some 'deep reading' and find out what the 'pre-Jesus' Jews 'thought their messiah would do' for them, and remember that Jews back then (and now) don't believe in 'Heaven' the way Christians today do, so that your question is sort of like comparing Apples (the fruit) with Computers (the technological device) that are 'sometimes called 'Apple' because they've been made by the Apple company. It might SEEM to work, but it truly doesn't ... even though WARS have been fought over these 'religious differences' again and again ...

Yes, at the time they were expecting some sort of warrior king to overthrow the Roman empire and setup an earthly kingdom, this is why they refused to accept him when he was among them, because they were so busy looking for their idea of the Messiah that they did not consider what God had in store.

It is interesting to see a Messianic Jew debate an orthodox, especially because they know Old Testament prophecies very well.

Jews don't believe Jesus was the messiah because he failed and broke most of the prophecies. ( http://www.jewsforjudaism.org/ ) Read the FAQ for yourself. He blew it.

Jesus was a liar and a fraud. If he truly performed any miracle at all, the 'Holy Spirit' of which he spoke was none other than Satan himself, for Jesus broke the prophecies of the Messiah.

Because he didn't fulfill their prophecies for one thing.

Here, this explains it better than I can. These are written by Jewish Rabbis explaining why Jews don't accept Jesus.
