We were together for 3 1/2 years but then he left me suddenly a few days ago. I think he is seeing someone else, but I can't know for certain and I dont think I really want to know anyway. He gave me some jewelry, a $500 ring and $200 necklace and is it wrong to pawn all that off? Because I hate looking at it, it makes me sad, and besides, I really need some money for spring break coming up.

Since he gave it to you it belongs to you now. That means you can do whatever you want to do with it. You don't need to feel guilty about or think that it is wrong whatsoever. In light of the crass way he ended the relationship you should feel very glad to be getting rid of it. Whatever you get it will certainly be worth more than what he was ever worth to you.. So go for the cash and enjoy every last red cent. You deserve it. Have a ball !!!!!!!!!!

If you feel there's no possibility of getting back together, then do it if that's what you want to do. But wait a little while, think how bad you would feel if you got back together and you had to tell him you had pawned the jewelry. May I suggest if you do decide to sell it, try selling it to a friend or placing an ad in the paper. A pawn shop isn't going to give you anywhere near what you could get by selling it to an individual.

Do what you want with it. Heck! I would do it! Or take a more movie, romantic path. Throw it into a lake or river that reminds you of him. But if it's worth a few hundred or thousand, take it to a jewelry shop. They'll buy it from you for a fair price. More money that what you would get at a pawn shop.

It's absolutely ok to do that. And after that trash everything he gave you including pictures. It will help you forget the relationship. After you pawn the jewelry go buy something sexy to wear out to meet a new boyfriend ;) Good Luck!

Yep, it was his gift to you, so you have full ownership of it and can dispose of it anyway you want to. Sell it, or trade it with some other heartbroken woman. If it has a nice stone, you can always change the setting (making the ring into a pendant for a necklace, for example) to create something new for yourself.

No. The items were gifts and you may do whatever you wish with them.

Instead of a pawn shop, consider e-bay. An appraisal will help you justify your asking price. Good luck.

As long as your not dumb enough to ever take him back, then yes pawn that asap. If there is any reason that you guys might get back together, hold on to it.

As long as it was given to you as a gift, no. I would sell it if it was me. Just make sure you toast him @ spring break.
