If evolution cannot be completely explained why brainwash kids in school to believe evolution if they have not had the chance to test it for themselves?

Also, why has andymcj66 not responded to tony c and concealed his e-mail after tony c. sent him a few questions about evolution?

I am sorry I did not write any flaws or holes in evolution, but just read the response from some of the other people here.

BC-munkee, I am actually 13, I skipped a grade. LOL.

Well my opinion is that if you really cannot explain something in depth then don't answer questions with things that have a few holes in them. Instead of God of the Gaps its theory of the Gaps. By the way not everything can happen in 4.5 billion years or 14 billion years, saying that is like a cop-out to me.

Well, I was talking about brainwashing with evolution, but since many people are talking about religion also, I might as well say something about that.

Lets see... Humans came from a reproducing molecule that came from amino acids which were produced in a lighting storm in a different atmosphere billions of years ago, and then the reproducing molecule was formed when the amino acids fell in the organic soup and created a living organism VS. A God created humans from mineral found on earth.

Why does one of them seem so much simpler than the other?

Well if I have to chose between mass expanding on its own (meaning matter or energy always existed and was never made) and later macro-evolution against God was always there, and this explains everything with no holes, I just get the feeling that the second option is more logical. Maybe it is just me.

Ranger wright, you gave a good response. People give thumbs down all the time. Look at tony c. he does not last a minute without 5 thumbs down.

A theory like evolution can not really be proven correct, because it must explain so much, that it is difficult for it to be correct. For example, it must explain how the first molecule was made, what caused the molecule to adapt, how did the molecule pass on its mutations, how did sexual reproduction begin, what was the first fertilized egg, and so on. Evolution has been and continues to be extremely difficult to prove when you go into detail in each section of the 4.5 billion years. As a whole it may seem that evolution is very well proven, but it lacks in several areas. Something like God made it, has no holes in it. You cannot disprove something so simple, and comprihensible. A theory which has remianed since before man wrote.

I won't put all the names, but there are several creationists here, and they put good arguments. Also several evolutionists who put good answers to my question, which even though we differ in ideas, thank you to all evolutionists who took time to answer my question well.

Oh also another response to BC_munkee, i never said dirt, I said minerals. Carbon is a mineral found on earth. By the way dust can be defined by the dictionary as:

"the substance to which something, as the dead human body, is ultimately reduced by disintegration or decay; earthly remains"
- dictionary.com

If when we die we turn into dust, then guess what we are before we die. Living dust. Thus, you can conclude we were made from "dust". If you know what i mean.

This cant be answered.........

Big Bang fly in the face of science and the laws and principals of thermodynamics. Lets be logical people.

In the First Law of Thermodynamics: matter cannot be created or destroyed. In the beginning to the Big Bang, there is nothing present to explode, and zero energy to explode it. There are zero observations, or documented test results for spontaneous generation, let alone matter from nothing.

Expecting to have matter, and energy just show up, when none is present is like taking an absolutely empty box, and after billions of years, or any other amount of time, expect to open that box, and inside have a operational world in all its complexity. Spontaneous generation something out of nothing, used to support the Big Bang is in direct conflict with the first scientific Law of Thermodynamics.

Evolution can, far the most part be explained to such a large degree that the odds of it being an incorrect theory is highly unlikely.

One of the reasons why some people do not believe in evolution is because the theory was not explained to them in the best way.

Depending on what school district you went, whether it was public or private, you may not be getting the best instruction on it.

Creationists often bring up many supposed holes in evolution.

These include how an eye can form from nothing, irreducible complexity, and the missing link in early humans.

All of these issues have been addressed by scientists to a satisfactory degree, but not everyone KNOWS that.

Unfortunately, some of the blame needs to go to some of the schools that only teach a brief summation of the theory.

Please clearify what parts specifically cannot be explained.

Also, even if not every issue about evolution is completely explained, the probability of it has to be examined.

Which theory is more likely, evolution or creationism?

The following is from a book (the name escapes me at the moment):

If you don't believe in evolution and you except the fossil evidence, then you must realize that not every animal got here at the same time. An elephant is not as old as bacteria, for instance.

If you believe in that then it seems that at one moment millions of years ago there were no elephants, and then, the next moment (due to the abscence of evolution) there was an elephant. How long that moment takes is does not matter, the point is the elephant did not come out of a uterus.

If you had a time machine and you were able to find out exactly when an elephant first appeared and you went back to that time, would you honestly expect to see an elephant just form?

Just because evolution cannot currently explain every detail, doesn't mean that it's not true.

That's like examining a murder and having DNA evidence and letting the suspect off because not EVERY SINGLE step of the murder could be explained.

Once again, please clearify what parts of evolution you do not understand.

Evolution can be explained, and there is a lot more evidence supporting it than creationism or intelligent design. That's why its called a theory (and not a hypothesis). Theories can be proven. Creationism suggests that we were assembled from dust from the ground... vs. Evolution suggesting that we are constantly in transition and constantly upgrading ourselves. Look at any member of the animal kingdom and you can see evidence of evolution. Find one scrap of evidence proving we are created and I will thank you vehemently- I really want there to be a god, I just firmly believe there isn't one. And don't hand me a bible quote- that's written- and I read it... It didn't work for me.

SO teaching kids that things can magically appear from dirt on the ground vs nature surviving through upgrades? Who's doing the brainwashing?

Alright SAM T, you pompous little ***. I have had about enough of this. The only aspect of evolution that cannot be explained are its exact mechanisms. You are a 15 year old kid with apparently a sub-par education. I am a successful 27 year old man with a degree in biology. Do you really want to test my education? Then bring it. I, for one have had just about enough of your nonsense.

Edit: Maybe you and RangerWright should chat it up. He seems to be about as uneducated as yourself.

Edit 2: Okay if god made us from dirt as your theory dictates then why are we carbon based lifeforms (just like every other life form on the planet) instead of silica based? Your 'theory' does not seem to hold up to very much scrutiny.

Just because an observable phenomenon cannot be fully explained does not mean it is not true. Gravity cannot be fully explained, but you do not go flying off the earth while we try and figure it out. Science recognizes the fact of evolution.

The existence of god, on the other hand, has no basis in reality. There is no evidence, nothing that can be tested, and is pure fantasy.

No amount of validation changes a theory into a law, which is a descriptive generalization about nature. So when scientists talk about the theory of evolution--or the atomic theory or the theory of relativity, for that matter--they are not expressing reservations about its truth.

A: You seem like a creepy stalker. I'm glad you can't see my e-mail.

B: Kids aren't brainwashed in school;they're brainwashed in Church. Kids are encouraged to think in school. Not all by into it.

C: You can both test and study evolution. Didn't you pay any attention in school?

What would YOUR solution to teaching kids about where we came from be? God? Creationism? What other more unlikely solution would you like them to place before children. Or should we just avoid the subject?

Kid: Teacher where did people come from?
Teacher: SHUT UP KID!

that sounds like a good plan.

What parts can't be explained?

------

Except the same tripe that Tony C keeps rolling out that's been answered before (sexual reproduction and begining of meosis, for example), I've yet to see someone have a unexplainable part of evolution. Care to provide some Sam?

Your age doesn't matter to me. Your brain does. You're here, use it. Let's hear what YOU have to say, not Tony C.
