The women were crying and holding small children; the children who were lookign for their parents were crying; the parents who were searching for their children were shouting. The road was full of those who had come to the spectacle. Some were carrying water out of the (?), others were entering the island and bringing help to the sad inhabitants. Many however did nothing.
