I used to be, but not anymore. I was with someone off and on for about 6 years and it was extremely hard to walk away and cut off the feelings. Who wants to give up on someone they loved or give up on love for that matter? In order for you to be happy and have some peace, as hard as it may be, you may have to walk away. If both people are truly working on the relationship then don't give up. But if one has given up and is mean to you and wants nothing to do with you except maybe what they can get from you then it is time to move on and heal your heart so you can love again, and hopefully the next time you love, it will be with the greatest man ever and no matter what comes your way you both do everything in your power not to let it slip away. I wish you lots of luck as I know how painful this decision is. Your heart is breaking into millions of tiny pieces and it feels like you'll never love or be loved again. But it will happen again and for all the right reasons

I'm in one of those and have been for 7 years. This lady is a highly placed government official. I'm retired military. There is absolutely no intimacy in our relationship whatsoever. We haven't been intimate for over 4 years. Our conversations center around her daily work events and that's it. She doesn't show any interest in anything i have to say or do.
I'd like to leave but would feel guilty just walking away as this woman has no other family members (siblings) nor aunts and uncles.
She has 2 adult children both are not married and can't be depended on to care for their mother if something were to happen to her.
I don't know what the heck to do about this situation. But i would like to find someone even a friend that actually would talk to me from time to time.
I just seems like i'm stuck here. Maybe i ought to be asking for advice on this situation myself.

I am not now but I was in a relationship that went back and forth all the time. Those "relationships" tend not to work out and should of ended a long time ago,

yes, I just recently left it.... deep down inside I knew I needed to leave... but my mind kept finding excuses to stay... for myself, when I have questions like that, I know deep down what the answer is... actually was thinking about it one night really hard, before I went to sleep, and was praying about it.. when I woke up in the morning, the first thing I thought of was "I need to leave this relationship now!"... but, I still was in denial and stayed..... well.. guess what.. it didn't work out

I was. I chose go. You just have to weigh the pros and cons.
Is it worth staying in? Am i just in this because its familiar and easy? etc etc
I know nothing of your circumstances, but thats what i went through. Good luck.

If you don't know whether to stay or go, go.
Because if you wanted to stay, you wouldn't be asking the question.
