Dude, seriously. DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF!! This may be a myth, but I heard that there is a nerve that runs through your septum straight into the middle of your brain which can kill you if it gets infected. I used to want my septum pierced, but haven't done it since hearing this.
Drop the safety pin, and back away............
I am sure that you will have much better results if you have if professionally pierced. I don't know about you, but I like my brain. No matter how twisted it is.....Good luck.

Alot of people don't realize that piercings are serious business. I must stress that you just don't jab a needle in prefered area of the body. Thats why piercers go through long apprenticships. They also take classes on the human body, to avoid puncturing veins, nerves and other important areas. Most also take classes on human first aid and CPR. Also they must learn about sterilization. So if they go through ALL that, don't you think its not easy, it also takes alot of practice as well. So why don't you wisen up and save some money and see a professional piercer before you make a big mistake.

LOL are you sure you even know where your septum is?!
No you will not go blind or paralyze your face. However, for the sake of having a straight and well done septum placed correctly, I strongly suggest you have a professional piercer do it. More specifically an intelligent and skilled piercer.
Septum piercings are easy to screw up and get crooked, but they don't do serious damage and won't do that kind of damage unless you shove the needle up your nostril and happen to hit your eye or brain.

You must have a lot of free time....Why not spend it looking up what your face could look like after the piercing gets infected and the scar that will remain when your body rejects it?? Hey or better yet have someone with training and sterile equipment pierce it for you if you need it done...as far as going blind..Why risk it??

One of my close friends got her septum pierced by her boyfriend at their friends house. hers healed up nicely, but there's always the risk of damaging a nerve, especially if you're not experienced with piercing.
I, on the other hand, went to a local place to get mine pierced. And I would definitely recommend going to a professional if you're not sure.
