Wow! I thought it was only me. In fact, people look at me oddly when I can't remember a name but I'll say, "It starts with a 'C', has 2 vowels and is 5 letters long".

Also, I have been keyboarding so long (we called it "typing"), that I did as I was taught in class - say each letter individually. Most of the time my fingers will automatically know when I've made a typo.

Interesting. I was never actually aware of it, but now I think about it yes I do, in the back of my mind kind of. From the answers here, it sounds like not everyone does. Do you also visualise letters in your mind's eye as having certain colours? That's a separate thing known as synesthesia.

"Subvocalization, or silent speech, is defined as the internal speech made when reading a word, thus allowing the reader to imagine the sound of the word as it is read. This is a natural process when reading and helps to reduce cognitive load, and it helps the mind to access meanings to enable it to comprehend and remember what is read."

you ought to be waiting to click on the area that asserts, "Open Spell Checker" good decrease than the balloon asserting you have misspellings and it frequently only shows you the words that are misspelled as quickly as that's open. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, I even have seen it spotlight words that are spelled wisely.

Yes. I don't see them spelt out as such (I mean every letter separate), but I do very often visualise words as written when I say them.

That sometimes happens to me too. Not so much in my own language but very often when speaking a foreign one.
