No, not necessarily. Christians do have a pantheon of beings which they raise up to the level of what would be called in other mythologies "lesser gods", take for example Satan. They give him so much power and influence.

I would say it is an oxymoron. Part of the Christian beliefs is that they have one "true" god. Polytheism, the practice of having many gods, obviously contradicts this.
You were wise to plan around the moron comments. I wouldn't have thought of that.

I don't know, but many sects do consider God the Father to be a separate being from The Son of God (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost. Those sects would be in some ways polytheistic, and yet still Christian. Also, Satan is considered by definition to be a god, and as such most Christians would, to an extent, be considered polytheistic in that they believe in him, though do not venerate him.

The church went through this 16 centuries ago in the various mono/duophysite debates. The Spirit, faith, wisdom, and a majority left it as a contradiction.
Now it is somewhat like tar, barf, and apple pie. If it didn't go down the first time, YA sure isn't reason to retry the recipe.

Yes, it's a contradiction.
Christians are monotheists. Father, Son and Holy Spirit...refers to the Trinity, One God, three parts.

Yes because Christians beleive in only one God or they are not a true Christian. Polytheistic means you beleive in more than one God.

Of course.
The basic tenets of the Christian Faith are contained in the Nicene Creed.
It begins: "I believe in One God..."
That's pretty clear...

Absolutely. Christians believe in one God. If you believe in more than one God then you are not Christian.
If you believe in the Judeo-Christian God and also believe in other gods, then I would categorize your beliefs as unitarian or universalist.
