many people assumed by reading half through my last question that I wasn't christian. I clearly believe in creation. I was only curious as to why some christians believe in both creation and evolution? Why they thought that God would just leave the creation of the world up to chance? I didn't think the question was that difficult. I suppose some are just here for the banter and arguementaion and not to think? Thanks to those of you who actually read the question and answered it accordingly.

lol Sorry, I did read your answer. I read all of the answers. I wanted to know why you believeed what you did. I didn't ask you to point me to resources of your belief of both being able to nicely fit together. Which I strongly disagree with.

Actually, that works both ways. Lots of questions spend the entire headline asking ppl to answer their question...
only to find out that they're just trolling, and have some stupid, insulting statement instead. Lots of times, I respond by simply answering the original apparent question, and to hell with their stupid traps.

I missed your first question - sorry about the grief you rec'd.
Believing in the creation can mean many things - some choose to believe in creation according to Genesis (see below) while others - such as myself - see creation as one more glorious gift of God w/ all of its depths and subtleties, including mathematics, astronomy, and science.
Archaeology and comparative literature over the last 200 centuries have taught us a great deal. Leaders need a past - as the looming presidential race is already showing us. All the more so if the personage is a religious leader. In the Bible, much of the first 11 chapters reflect the social / religious world of Ur where Abram lived. For inistance, in Hurrian society, the elite would adopt their fiancee as their sister before they wed - much as Abram called Sara.
We know now from documents earlier than Genesis that much of the Bible Prequel is preparing the introduction for the Bible Faith = Abram. The creation stories have borrowed so much from the Babylonian Genesis and the Gilgamesh Epic - so also the Noahic flood story. You see much of the same "pedigree" building in the listing of the kings of Edom and the listing of ancestors back to adam which means humanity.
Creation is no less wonderful within the broader history. God's love continues to out pace our puny attempts to limit the mystery and the awe which are His alone.
So to answer your question, no it s never to much to ask, just to count on someone reading the entire question.

You're right. Some do answer before reading and I think there are some here this just want to banter and argue. But there are some of us here that will answer when we can and when it is appropriate. (sometimes here it's obviously not the right time)

Fence sitters (those that believe in both creation and evolution) believe this way for one reason - it is the only way they can rectify their intelligent, thinking minds with the side that has been hijacked by the mind virus of religion - it allows them to both belong to a group of believers, as well as being able to belong to the general thinking public as well.
And, for the record, you misspelled "mispelling!"

That's a legitimate point, but to be honest you could help the matter by using a few paragraph breaks.
