The Swahili word for mother is mama. The cool thing about this is that once a woman (or a man) has children, she (or he) is often referred to using the eldest child's name.
For instance, a woman named Grace would be called Grace until her daughter Wema was born. Thereafter she would most likely be known as Mama Wema rather than Grace. (Dad would be Baba Wema.) It can be rather confusing for people outside a community to keep up with the different names people use, but very useful once you understand how everyone is related.
As mentioned above, Bibi is the word for grandmother, but it can also refer to any adult female as an outside reference. I.e. "The woman went shopping" could be "the bibi went shopping."

Half of the languages you mentioned are related in some way or another to each other - they share a common ancestral language. Nanay, tatay - Filipino - doesn't sound mama or papa Chichui and Hahaui - Japanese Otosan and Okaasan The more you get out of europe, the more different the languages sound from one another.

These words are important in a toddler's vocabulary, and when they learn to say these words, their baby teeth have not grown out fully and their tongue muscle has not developed fully to aid in articulation, so the easiest sounds for them to make are labial (lip) sounds, hence baba, papa, mama are the first words they are capable of saying.

Mama. The problem is, it's also the word for "Mrs". A sort of universal motherhood.
