I was at a club with a female friend and she told me she loves it when a guy will without hesitation make direct eye contact. She said she may get nervous or whatever and turn away but she'll peek back and if he's still direct she gets very turned on and gets kind of flushed/ embaressed or starts to fumble with something. She did say that it wasnt a perverted leer but a confident lock and that he not turn away. I have always made quick eye contact and then turned away to not make it look like I was staring at her but she said I need to hold it longer, almost uncomfortably long for my own standards. Any truth in this, do you girls feel the same way as my friend and make the same reactions?

Definitely. It's very sexy when a guy openly looks at you for more than a few seconds. I agree make it almost too uncomfortable for you. It is totally awesome. I really love it. I agree with your friend, we may get a little nervous, but we love it.

It would depend on the individual women. I have a friend from N.Y.C. who will publicly chastise men if they look at her for more than 30 sec at a time. My sister gets offended and won't talk to men who look at her for too long. Women are difficult to understand. Eye contact, like everything else with women, is situational. Some women will find it flattering in certain situations but insulting in others. There is no rule about how women will interpret your actions. The best rule about how to act when trying to find someone is simply to be yourself. If you wouldn't normally hold a gaze, then don't. There are just as many women who will like you for not holding a gaze as there are who will like you for holding a gaze.

quickly looking away tells that person you some how feel awkward or guilty of some thing.
in the business world making eye contact is the key to being hired or not. the F.B.I. , your local police , correction officers all know that if he looks away he's guilty.i can't tell you how many times i have said no to a date because he could not look "at me".

I absolutely agree. A man who comes up to me and makes direct eye contact while talking to me is a huge turn on. For me, it shows me that this man is confident. Sometimes when this happens I can go weak in the knees.

Oh yeah! It shows interest and confidence. Women love a man who is confident and comfortable with himself. That's hot! So by making eye contact and holding it, it shows us you dig us and you feel confident about what you want. I love it. Plus it makes me feel like I have really beautiful eyes. That's always great.

No, because most people look you in the eye, or should, just during normal conversation whether they're attracted to you or not. She should probably not take it too seriously and look for other signs in addition to direct eye contact.
