IT IS NOT BECAUSE, Ozone layer depletion is an invention of a group of governments interested in pressuring the big companies such as Oil, Car Manufacturers and Chemicals among others to give in on their demands for votes or money threatening them by closing factories because of the pollution etc... there´s not 1 single noticeable factor that the ozone layer is diminished

Human activities are responsible for most of the ozone problems both high in the atmosphere and on the surface. There are natural causes of surface ozone such as lightning but these are far outweighed by human pollution. There are natural causes of ozone depletion in the upper stratosphere and lower mesosphere such as volcanic eruptions but these are far outweighed by human pollution.

The pollution of which I speak is that which introduces chlorine high into the atmosphere. Burning coal and CO2 do not affect the ozone layer.

It is an unfair debate as the vast bulk of the evidence supports the thesis that ozone problems are our fault.

You mean apart from the measurements of ozone using Dobson spectrophotometers and the observations and measurements from polar orbiting satellites? These measurements have been going on for decades. I have used the Dobson myself in Darwin and in the Antarctic and I have seen the results. You should try reading the odd paper on the subject. Even popular science magazines such as New Scientist will give you all the evidence you need - and the journalistic style is easy to read for beginners.

Since the ozone depletion was caused by human action, you've got a tough job! :)

Here's what I'd do. Set your arguement up so that you define "fault" as implying INTENTIONAL action. Then you can argue that the whole notion of fault is irrelevant--because the effect of CFCs on the ozone layer were unknown when the came into wide use. Since the use of CFCs was banned in fairly short order, the whole problem, while real enough, simply isn't anyone's "fauld."

The nice thing about this approach is that it has a lot of truth to it! Good luck. :)

Which ozone problem? The one that occurs in the summer when auto exhausts CREATE ozone, or the one where chemicals no longer being manufactured in the US DESTROYED ozone in the upper atmosphere?

Bring that one up, the two effects cancel each other, I've never yet met anyone who can explain that one.

the big problem is not the ozone, it's the fart zone, if the ozone is depleted the fart zone will fall back to earth gassing everyone to death, and it wasn't any ones fault, but Mexico and Texas and camels and cheap cat food, and Hillery Clinton the smartist woman on planet earth.

What do you mean "not our fault"? We're the ones burning coil, creating Co2,and releasing it into the ozone.

Millions of tons of crap DAILY into the atmosphere is nothing to sneeze at. Pun intended.

We are screwing ourselves over for a buck.
Shooting ourselves in the herd.
Stepping on our own ducks.
Cutting off our nose to spite our finch.
Kicking ourselves in the aardvark.

We're ruining it for everybody and everything, and people who can't accept it are three fries short of a Happy Meal.
Have a nice day.
