Not very many sex-offenders go to church, contrary to what some may WANT to believe. Sex offenders are usually caught up in their selfishness and actually deny what they have done. If they will not admit it, they cannot be cleansed of it. This would be the first step. Pray for them and have them pray for their victim. After this, it would be in the hands of God, but I would suggest that they comply fully with their treatment before coming back.

A priest, like any citizen, has the obligation to report potential crimes - ie ones planning to be committed - it is more controversial whether the seal of confessional should cover confessed crimes.
I hope that the priest would try to help the person. I think its part of the job description.

That would be a tough question, though i am not a priest I do know that seeking Gods will and not the will of the flesh is a good start you would need to truly turn the decision over to God and the Holy Spirit. asking flesh to help flesh is not sight at all. though you do need a support system to help you understand your weakness. If you truly search for the help you will find it.

I would refer them to their medical professional. They have certain drugs males can take that will cause chemical castration (until the drug is removed from the system). On the other hand, regarding spiritual help, well, you might refer them to passages in the Bible (or other holy text) to help strengthen their own resolve in curbing their urges. But it's something they really have to want and they have to do for themself. You've heard the saying *God helps those who help themselves.* You can offer the person spiritual advice and even strength based on your religious beliefs and scripture, but other than that, not much else can be done.

As a Priest you should try and help his man by doing everything you can within your Priesthood guidelines as you can, as a human being you should take the additional steps to showing him the resources available in your area. Good Luck!

Absolutely, encourage them to get professional help. If they are already involved in therapy, encourage them to continue.
Let him know that God still loves him and can forgive him...but God expects him to turn from his sin and live a clean life that honors Him.
Now, here's the hard part. Make yourself available to this person. Tell him that, if he gets the urge to do it again, he should call you and you'll be there to talk to him and pray with him.

I'm not a priest but I wouldn't want to be in your shoes. Doesn't the bible say something more or less about loving thy neighbor? Then do what you can to help this person within religious and legal bounds. Unless it becomes to uncomfortable. Good luck to you.

I am not a priest but that authority must remain available to the person to consult. Priests are leaders of the flock, they should tell them to call when they are having trouble. If there isn't a support group available to them, they should try to help them.

As a priest i would tell them:
My heal rank 1 is on cool down but I'm sure my cleanse rank 2 is just as good!
