Go see your mom. Dont put off your travels just because your kids and husband. Bring them all along. Bring extra toys and activities for your kids to do while on the plane. Maybe bring a portable DVD player with movies for the kids and the husband, if the airline itself doesnt have onflight movies to watch. Maybe go see your doctor to get some sedatives for yourself so you can sleep while on the plane and have your husband watch the kids while you sleep. I'm sure your mom would love to see you and the kids.

Could you not go for a few days either on your own, or with just the older child? I have a one year old, and I have never been apart from him for more than a few hours, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. Especially for just a few days.

Maybe next time you could take the younger boy, and alternate each time. Atleast then you could give whichever child your whole attention rather than trying to keep everyone happy and getting tired out and completely stressed before you get there.

If you really want to go all together, try and get a flight that will co-incide with bedtime, so that they will board the flight and hopefully fall asleep fairly quickly. Try to pack items in your hand luggage to entertain them...and healthy snacks, nothing that will induce a sugar rush.

My family are only an hour away by plane and I cannot bear the thought of the trip so you are very brave to even think of it. Have a great time whatever you decide, and try accept that the travelling my be hellish, but your mum is worth it.

Sounds like a no brainer to me, how can u possibly turn down the chance to visit SA, depending on which part your visiting but I know someone who'd be willing to take those tickets of your hands!
